Teak is the strongest tobacco flavor in the colour-name TEREA system, and the one people move to when Amber and Sienna have stopped feeling like enough. Woody, dry, and finished with a distinct peppery bite, it is the least forgiving stick we sell and the most rewarding for anyone who wants their tobacco to assert itself.
We carry it in two editions, the official UAE release and the Kazakhstan import, at two different prices for the same blend concept.
What Teak tastes like
Woody tobacco leads and never really steps back. Underneath it sits a dry, resinous character closer to seasoned wood than to the roasted warmth of Amber, and the finish carries a peppery edge that is the flavor’s signature.
There is no sweetness to speak of. Where Bronze softens its tobacco with cocoa and dried fruit, and Amber rounds itself out with a light malty note, Teak leaves the tobacco unaccompanied. That is the point of it.
The aroma is drier and sharper than the other tobacco flavors, and it lingers a little longer in a room. Not intrusive in the way a clove Edition or a strong menthol is, but noticeably more present than Amber or Silver.
Across a session the profile holds firm rather than developing. The opening draws are already at full strength, the middle stretch is where the peppery finish becomes most obvious, and the last third stays dry and woody without turning bitter or ashy. Fourteen puffs, and Teak is the same stick at the end as at the beginning.
Where Teak sits in the strength order
Among the colour-name flavors, nothing is stronger. The order runs Silver and Yellow at the light end, Amber in the middle as the rounded reference point, Sienna above it with more dryness and tea-like depth, and Teak at the top.
The only TEREA sticks that carry more body are in the Japanese range, where Rich Regular and Bold Regular sit above everything. If Teak is still not enough, that is where to look next, and our TEREA Japan range covers the seven-step Regular line in full.
Going the other way, if Teak turns out to be too dry, Sienna keeps most of the body while softening the edges, and Amber is the comfortable step back from both.
Who Teak actually suits
Three groups end up here, and one group should probably not.
Heavy full-flavour cigarette smokers who tried Amber first and found it smooth to the point of being unsatisfying. Teak is the usual second stop.
Anyone who dislikes sweetness in tobacco. Bronze and Amber both carry a faint sweetness, natural rather than added, and some people notice it and would rather not. Teak has none.
Evening and after-food users. The dryness and the peppery finish stand up to a heavy meal or a strong coffee in a way lighter sticks do not.
Who should skip it: anyone new to TEREA. Starting at Teak when your palate is still adjusting from cigarettes usually reads as harsh rather than full, and people write off the whole system on the strength of it. Start at Amber, give it a week, then come here.
The two editions we stock
Same blend concept, two market tunings, two prices.
Teak from the UAE is the official local release, with Arabic and English packaging and UAE health warnings, priced at official RRP. The right choice if the pack is a gift, if you want to read your own product, or if you want the version sold through official channels here. Part of the UAE edition range.
Teak from Kazakhstan costs less and comes from the sixteen-flavor Kazakhstan range, which also carries all five Pearl capsule flavors. The one to pick if you want a cheaper Teak with room to explore beyond it.
The price gap comes from tobacco excise in the market each pack was made for rather than anything inside the pack. The UAE applies 100% excise plus VAT on tobacco while Kazakhstan taxes considerably less, so the identical Philip Morris stick retails lower at source. We set the whole thing out in why imported TEREA costs less.
Worth knowing: Teak does not appear in the Indonesia, Japan or Armenia ranges. If you want it, these two editions are the only options, which is unusual for a flavor of this profile. The full five-way picture is in our TEREA edition comparison.
Getting the most out of it
Two things change how Teak tastes more than most sticks.
Draw speed. Fast, hard draws push the peppery finish forward and can make it feel harsh. Slower draws let the woody body come through properly. If Teak feels aggressive, slow down before deciding it is not for you.
Temperature, if your device allows it. Official IQOS devices run one fixed heating profile, but Lambda induction devices let you set anywhere between 200 and 300°C. Teak rewards the higher end, where the body fills out and the dryness reads as depth rather than sharpness.
One more, on rotation: Teak overwhelms whatever follows it. Run it last in a session rather than before a light flavor like Yellow or Silver, or those will barely register.
Specs and device compatibility
Every Teak stick, whichever edition, carries 0.5mg of nicotine and gives up to 14 puffs across roughly a six-minute session. Packs hold 20 sticks, cartons hold 200 across 10 packs, and cartons always cost less per stick.
Strength here is about body and character rather than nicotine. Every TEREA stick in every edition contains the same 0.5mg, which is worth knowing before you assume a stronger-tasting flavor delivers more. Our guide to the strongest TEREA flavors ranks all three axes separately, and how many puffs are in a TEREA stick has the full specifications.
Teak works in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. It will not heat in the IQOS 3 Duo, Originals models, lil Solid, Lambda T3 or Lambda CC, which are blade devices built for HEETS. The reason is explained in how TEREA sticks work, and every model is listed in the device compatibility guide. There is no regional lock, so either edition of Teak runs in any compatible device.

Frequently asked questions
Is Teak the strongest TEREA flavor?
It is the strongest in the colour-name system, ahead of Sienna and Amber. Japan’s Rich Regular and Bold Regular carry more body still, so Teak is the strongest widely available rather than the strongest overall.
Does Teak contain menthol?
No. It is pure tobacco with no cooling and no fruit. Turquoise is the menthol equivalent if that is what you want.
Teak or Sienna?
Sienna is drier than Amber but keeps a tea-like depth and a softer edge. Teak is drier still and adds a peppery finish. If Sienna feels close but not quite enough, Teak is the next step.
Why is the Kazakhstan Teak cheaper?
Tobacco excise. The UAE applies 100% excise plus VAT while Kazakhstan taxes far less, so the same Philip Morris stick retails lower at source. Nothing inside the pack differs.
Is Teak too strong for a first TEREA?
Usually, yes. Start with Amber and give your palate a week to adjust. People who begin at Teak often read it as harsh rather than full and give up on the whole system unnecessarily.
Does Teak have more nicotine than other flavors?
No. Every TEREA stick contains 0.5mg regardless of flavor or edition. What differs is body, aroma and character.
Which editions carry Teak?
Only the UAE and Kazakhstan ranges. It does not appear in the Indonesia, Japan or Armenia editions.
