IQOS ILUMA Standard Device

IQOS ILUMA Standard Device

Showing all 6 results

ILUMA Standard is the two-piece device in the middle of the ILUMA range, and it’s the one that makes the most sense for most people. A slim holder runs each session, a pocket charger refills it between sticks, and together they get you through a full day without finding a plug.

It matches ILUMA Prime on every performance figure that matters and costs less, because Prime’s premium sits in aluminium and a leather-effect wrap rather than in how it heats.

We stock it in Azure Blue, Moss Green, Pebble Beige, Pebble Grey, Sunset Red and the Neon Limited Edition, all original Philip Morris product, delivered within 1 hour in Abu Dhabi and same-day across the UAE.

How the two-piece system works

The holder is the part you use. Insert a TEREA stick, it heats, you draw, and when the session ends you slide the holder back into the pocket charger.

The pocket charger is the reservoir. It carries enough power for roughly 20 sticks, which is a full pack, and it tops the holder back up in a few minutes between sessions.

The practical result is that you’re never waiting on a wall socket during the day. The holder handles two sticks back to back, and by the time you want a third the charger has already refilled it. ILUMA One can’t do that, because it’s a single unit that needs a plug when it runs down.

The cost is that there are two objects to keep track of instead of one. That trade sits at the centre of the choice between Standard and One, and it’s covered in more depth in our ILUMA One vs Standard vs Prime guide.

The features that shape daily use

Auto-start is the one you notice first. Insert a stick to the line on the filter, and heating begins on its own, no button press needed. The holder vibrates when it’s ready. If you’re coming from ILUMA One, which needs a press and hold, this is the most obvious upgrade in daily use.

Autostop ends the session if the stick is moved or pulled out mid-use, so you don’t lose half a stick to a distraction.

A vibration with pulsing lights warns you at the last 30 seconds or last two puffs, so nothing ends abruptly.

A short press on the charger button shows the remaining battery, with a yellow blink meaning it needs charging.

Standard, One, Prime or ILUMA i

Every device in the family heats identically. What changes is form factor, features and price.

ILUMA One is the all-in-one: lightest, simplest, cheapest, with no pocket charger and no auto-start. Right if you want a single object in your pocket and don’t mind charging from a wall.

ILUMA Standard is the two-piece system in plastic, with auto-start and around 20 sticks of charger capacity.

ILUMA Prime is Standard’s functionality in aluminium, with a leather-effect wrap you can replace and a sliding door on the charger. Same heating, same consecutive uses, same capacity, higher price.

The ILUMA i series is the newer generation across all three shapes, adding a touchscreen, Pause Mode, FlexPuff and three consecutive uses rather than two.

Our ILUMA vs ILUMA i comparison covers whether the newer generation is worth the difference, and if budget is the main constraint, the Lambda range heats TEREA at a lower entry price, assessed honestly in Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA.

The colours

Six finishes, identical performance across all of them.

Azure Blue is the cool blue and our best seller. Moss Green is the muted, earthy option, the quietest of the six. Pebble Beige is the warm neutral, and Pebble Grey is the cool neutral that shows marks least over a year of pocket use. Sunset Red is the bold one, and the easiest to identify if other people around you own IQOS devices too.

The Neon Limited Edition is a limited production run rather than a permanent line, so it isn’t restocked once it sells through.

Setting it up

Charge the pocket charger fully before first use, which takes about 135 minutes over USB-C. Hold the charger button for four seconds to turn the device on.

Take the holder out, insert a TEREA stick to the line on the filter, and wait for the vibration and pulsing lights. Heating starts by itself. When the lights hold steady, draw normally for up to 14 puffs or roughly six minutes. A vibration warns you at the last 30 seconds. Then remove the used stick and slide the holder back into the charger.

Full guidance is in our first-time ILUMA setup guide, and the session specs are in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.

Why it never needs cleaning

Older IQOS devices heated sticks with a ceramic blade that collected tobacco residue and needed regular cleaning with sticks and cotton buds.

There’s no blade here. Smartcore induction heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick through a magnetic field, so nothing inside the holder touches tobacco. Used sticks come out whole, nothing accumulates, and there’s no cleaning routine at all. How TEREA sticks work explains the system.

The same design is why Standard takes TEREA and nothing else. HEETS have no metal element for induction to heat, and TEREA won’t heat in an IQOS 3 Duo either. Both directions are covered in HEETS in ILUMA and TEREA in IQOS 3 Duo, and every model is listed in the device compatibility guide.

Sticks to buy with it

We stock all 75 TEREA flavors across five editions. For a first device, Amber suits full-flavor cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers, and Turquoise suits menthol smokers.

The edition you choose changes the price more than the taste. Most of our customers buy the Kazakhstan range, on cost and for its five Pearl capsule flavors. Armenia is cheaper with a shorter lineup, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. The reason behind the gap is in why imported TEREA costs less, and every flavor is browsable on the TEREA flavors page.

Care in the UAE

Heat is what shortens a lithium battery, and a parked car in an Abu Dhabi summer is the worst place to leave either part of this device. Keep both out of direct sun.

Use the supplied cable and adapter, avoid using the holder while the charger is plugged in, and there’s nothing else to maintain. No cleaning, no consumable parts.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between ILUMA Standard and ILUMA Prime?

Materials and design, not performance. Both are two-piece systems with the same heating, the same two consecutive uses and the same charger capacity. Prime is aluminium with a replaceable leather-effect wrap and a sliding door; Standard is plastic and costs less.

Standard or ILUMA One?

Standard if you want to go a full day without a wall socket, and if auto-start matters to you. One if you’d rather carry a single object and don’t mind pressing a button and charging from a plug.

How many sticks can I use back to back?

Two from the holder, then a few minutes in the charger. The charger holds enough for around 20 sticks in total, which is a full pack.

How long does a full charge take?

About 135 minutes for the pocket charger over USB-C.

Does it need cleaning?

No. There’s no blade, so no tobacco residue collects inside and there’s no cleaning routine at all.

Can I use HEETS in it?

No. HEETS have no metal heating element, so induction has nothing to heat. TEREA sticks only.

Do all six colours perform the same?

Yes. Identical specifications throughout, so the choice is purely visual.

Is the Neon Limited Edition different inside?

No, it’s the same device with a limited-run finish. Once that run sells through it isn’t restocked.
