Lambda makes heated tobacco devices that work with the same sticks as IQOS, at lower prices and with controls official hardware doesn’t offer. Adjustable temperature, adjustable session length, and batteries roughly double the capacity of a Philip Morris device.

There’s one thing to get right before you order anything from this page, and it’s the mistake we see most often.

Two technologies, one brand name

Lambda sells devices built on two completely different heating systems, and they are not interchangeable.

Induction models: i8, i9, i10. These heat a metal element sealed inside the stick using a magnetic field. They work with TEREA and other Smartcore sticks. They cannot heat HEETS.

Blade models: T3, CC. These push a heated blade into the tobacco. They work with HEETS, Marlboro heatsticks, Parliament and Fiit. They cannot heat TEREA.

If you use TEREA, you need the i8, i9 or i10. If you use HEETS, you need the T3 or CC. Buying across that line means buying a device that won’t heat your sticks at all, and the shared Lambda naming makes it an easy error. How TEREA sticks work explains why the two systems can’t cross over.

The induction range for TEREA

Three models sharing one set of internals: a 3200 mAh battery good for up to 40 sessions, temperature adjustable from 200 to 300°C, and session length from 3 to 6 minutes.

i8 i9 i10
Battery 3200 mAh 3200 mAh 3200 mAh
Sessions per charge Up to 40 Up to 40 35 to 40
Temperature 200-300°C 200-300°C 200-300°C
Session length 3-6 min 3-6 min 3-6 min
Display Indicator lights OLED screen Indicator lights
Self-cleaning cycle No Yes No
Body Aluminium alloy Aluminium alloy Leather-effect
Weight 83 g 80 g
Colours 6 6 5

The i8 is the value model and the one most people should buy: identical heating and battery to the others, at the lowest price. Our Lambda i8 review covers it in full.

The i9 adds an OLED display showing exact temperature, battery and session time, plus an automatic self-cleaning cycle.

The i10 is the newest, wrapped in a leather-effect finish that grips better than metal and doesn’t turn cold or hot after sitting in a car.

None of them heats better than the others. You’re choosing a readout and a finish.

The blade range for HEETS

Two models, and they’re further apart than the induction three.

T3 CC
Blade Titanium steel alloy Titanium steel alloy
Battery 1500 mAh 3200 mAh
Uses per charge 18-20 sticks Higher
Temperature 2 levels 200-300°C adjustable
Session length Fixed 5 min 30 sec 3-6 min adjustable
Display Indicator lights LED screen
Charging About 70 min Longer
Colours 5 6

The T3 is simpler, lighter and charges faster. The CC has more than double the battery, a proper display and full temperature control. The CC is the better device; the T3 is the more convenient one.

Both use a titanium steel alloy blade rather than ceramic, and that’s the reason to consider them over official blade hardware. Ceramic blades snap if a stick is twisted during removal, and a snapped blade ends the device. It’s the most common way an IQOS 3 Duo or Originals model dies. Titanium doesn’t fail the same way.

What adjustable temperature is actually for

Every Lambda gives you a heat range where IQOS gives you one fixed profile, and it’s the feature worth buying the brand for.

Lower settings produce a lighter, cleaner draw where delicate aromas survive. That suits Silver with its spicy-herb notes, or Yellow, whose citrus brightness gets flattened at high heat.

Higher settings produce denser vapour and more body, which is where full tobaccos like Amber and Sienna come into their own.

If you smoke one flavour and never think about it, this changes nothing for you. If you rotate across editions, it’s the difference between tasting what a stick is capable of and accepting whatever a fixed profile gives you.

Lambda or official IQOS

We sell both ranges, so here’s the comparison without a thumb on the scale.

Lambda wins on battery and control. Up to 40 sessions per charge against roughly 20 on an IQOS ILUMA i, adjustable temperature and session length where IQOS is fixed, and a lower price than official hardware of comparable capability.

IQOS wins on backing. It’s Philip Morris hardware with a manufacturer warranty, commonly 12 months. Lambda carries no PMI warranty at all, so whatever cover exists comes from the retailer. Official devices also get app support and firmware updates; Lambda has no equivalent.

They’re equal on heating. The induction models use the same principle on the same metal element inside the same sticks. Any TEREA edition works in either, and neither needs the blade-cleaning routine older IQOS devices required.

Our Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA comparison goes through this properly, and if you’d rather buy official, the IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i ranges are here too.

Cleaning: it depends which one you buy

This splits neatly along the same line as everything else.

Induction models need no cleaning at all. Nothing inside the device touches tobacco, so no residue collects. The i9’s self-cleaning cycle handles the light film that can build up over months with sweeter flavours or Pearl capsules, which is a convenience rather than a necessity.

Blade models need cleaning regularly, because the blade sits inside the tobacco every session. Both the T3 and CC have automatic cycles, but periodic manual cleaning with a brush and cleaning sticks is what separates a blade device that stays good for years from one that disappoints in months. We stock cleaning accessories, and our guide to cleaning an IQOS device covers the technique for any blade device.

Which Lambda should you buy?

Start with your sticks, not the device.

You use TEREA and want the best value: the i8. Same performance as the others, lowest price.

You use TEREA and want a screen: the i9, for exact temperature and battery readings plus self-cleaning.

You use TEREA and care how it looks and feels: the i10, for the leather-effect body and the lightest weight.

You use HEETS and want simple: the T3.

You use HEETS and want control: the CC.

You’re thinking of switching from HEETS to TEREA: buy an induction model, not a blade one. What you gain is no cleaning at all and 75 TEREA flavours across five editions, including things HEETS never had. Our guide on what the HEETS phase-down means for UAE users covers the wider picture, and the device compatibility guide lists every device and stick pairing.

Buying notes

Lambda is an independent manufacturer, not a Philip Morris product. That means no PMI warranty on any device on this page, and no IQOS app integration. Cover comes from the retailer, so it’s worth asking about wherever you buy.

Sticks are sold separately on every model. For a first device, Amber suits full-flavour cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers, and Turquoise suits menthol smokers. Edition affects price more than taste: Kazakhstan is our best seller, Armenia the cheapest, and why imported TEREA costs less explains the spread.

Pairing an i8 with a Kazakhstan or Armenia carton is the cheapest complete TEREA setup we sell, which is worth knowing if you’re pricing a switch from cigarettes.

Care in the UAE

Heat degrades a lithium battery faster than use does, and a 3200 mAh cell left on a dashboard through an Abu Dhabi summer will lose capacity noticeably sooner than one kept indoors. Keep any device out of parked cars and direct sun.

Use the supplied USB-C cable, avoid running a session while the device is charging, and on the i10 specifically, wipe the leather-effect finish with a dry or barely damp cloth rather than anything wet.

Delivery

Every Lambda model and colour is stocked in Abu Dhabi with delivery inside 1 hour across the city, covering Khalifa City, Al Reem Island, Yas Island, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. Same-day delivery reaches Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Cash on delivery available, free delivery above 200 AED.

Frequently asked questions

Which Lambda devices work with TEREA?

The i8, i9 and i10. These are induction devices that heat the metal element inside a TEREA stick. The T3 and CC are blade devices for HEETS and will not heat TEREA at all.

Why does Lambda make two incompatible types?

Because the two stick systems are incompatible at a physical level. HEETS have no metal element for induction to heat, and TEREA isn’t built to have a blade pushed into it. Lambda covers both markets, which is why checking the model matters.

Are Lambda devices official IQOS products?

No. Lambda is an independent manufacturer. There’s no Philip Morris warranty and no IQOS app support, and any cover comes from your retailer.

Do they work with all TEREA editions?

Yes, on the induction models. Compatibility depends on the metal element inside the stick rather than the market that printed the pack, so imported editions and Pearl capsule flavours work exactly like local stock.

How much better is the battery than an IQOS?

Roughly double on the induction models: up to 40 sessions per charge against around 20 from an IQOS ILUMA i holder and pocket charger.

Is the i9 worth more than the i8?

Only if you want the OLED display and self-cleaning cycle. Battery, temperature range and stick compatibility are identical, so the i8 gives the same sessions for less.

Do induction Lambdas need cleaning?

No. Nothing inside touches tobacco, so no residue accumulates. Blade models like the T3 and CC do need regular cleaning.

Can a Lambda device damage my sticks?

Forcing a TEREA stick into a blade device will damage the stick and risks the blade. Putting a HEETS stick in an induction device simply does nothing, since there’s no metal element to heat.
