Teak is the flavor most Amber drinkers should try next and most never do. Philip Morris builds it as a Classic blend in the Regular tier: a mellow, rounded, earthy tobacco carrying soft notes of cream and a fragrant nutty aroma. That creamy dimension is the thing to understand about it, because no other tobacco stick in the Kazakhstan range has it.

Think of Teak as Amber with an extra layer rather than Amber turned up. Same warm, approachable character, more complexity in the middle of the session.

About the flavor

The hierarchy runs roasted, earthy tobacco first, nutty aromas second, and a soft creaminess threaded through both. The nut character is specific: hazelnut and roasted almond rather than a generic nuttiness, and it’s what reviewers pick out first when they compare Teak against anything else in the Classic blend family.

The aroma is warm and rounded, closer to a bakery than a tobacconist, and it sits at the moderate end of the scale in a room. It’s more noticeable than Silver but nowhere near a menthol or a clove stick.

Across a session Teak does something Amber doesn’t. The opening draws are gentle and earthy, easy on the throat and slightly sweet. Through the middle the nuts arrive properly and the cream note softens the whole thing into something rounder than where it started. The final third holds rather than thinning out, which is the specific praise Teak gets most often from long-term users: it keeps its flavor from first puff to last instead of fading in the back half. It finishes warm, mildly sweet and clean, without dryness.

Fourteen puffs at 0.5mg nicotine, and the character genuinely develops across them.

Where Teak actually sits

Philip Morris places Teak in the Regular tier, one step above Amber’s Mild designation and alongside Sienna. Most reviewers put it at medium intensity, between the light Silver and the fuller Sienna.

Worth being straight about one thing: a minority of sources describe Teak as the strongest classic flavor, and a few call it dry and tannic. That doesn’t match the official descriptor or the weight of user reviews, which consistently describe it as mellow, creamy and medium. If you’re expecting a heavy, harsh stick, Teak isn’t it.

Against Amber: same family, more layers. Amber is the reliable everyday classic; Teak is the more refined version of the same idea, and it’s the natural next step for anyone who likes Amber but wants more going on.

Against Bronze: both sit in medium territory, but Bronze is darker and more traditional, with cocoa and dried fruit where Teak has cream and nuts. Bronze feels straightforward; Teak feels distinctive. If you’ve tried Bronze and wanted something less dark, this is the one.

Against Yellow: Yellow is lighter and citrus-led, a different direction entirely rather than a weaker version.

Why buy Teak from the Kazakhstan range

Teak isn’t in every TEREA edition. It’s absent from the Armenia lineup entirely, and Japan uses its own Regular-line naming instead of colour names. Within what we stock, the choice is between this Kazakhstan release and the UAE edition, which carries Arabic and English packaging at official RRP.

The Kazakhstan version costs less for reasons that have nothing to do with the stick: tobacco excise is far lower in its source market, which we’ve set out in why imported TEREA costs less. How all five editions differ is covered in the TEREA edition comparison, and everything we carry sits in the full TEREA sticks range.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, cartons cheaper per stick. Teak arrives in its recognisable light-brown packaging, factory-sealed, printed in Kazakh and Russian with Kazakhstan health warnings and the flavor name in Latin script. Imported-language packaging is normal here; a broken seal or misspelled name is not, and the full check is in our guide to spotting fake TEREA.

Getting the best from it

Insert the stick printed-end up without twisting. Current ILUMA models begin heating automatically, older ones want the button held until the first vibration, and the second vibration means ready. The spent stick comes out whole for general waste, since nothing burns; the reason is explained in how TEREA sticks work, and the full stick specs are in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.

Teak rewards patience more than most sticks. The cream and nut notes are strongest from the middle of the session onward, so if you tend to cut sticks short after five or six puffs, you’re leaving the best part of this one behind.

Devices

Heats in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the whole ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. No blade device heats TEREA, the IQOS 3 Duo included, and every model is listed in our device compatibility guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is Teak stronger than Amber?

It’s one tier up officially, Regular against Amber’s Mild, but the difference reads as more complexity rather than more punch. Teak adds nutty and creamy layers to a similar warm tobacco base.

What makes Teak different from Bronze?

The cream. Both are medium tobacco sticks, but Bronze goes dark with cocoa and dried fruit while Teak goes warm with hazelnut, almond and a soft creamy note. Bronze is the traditional one, Teak the distinctive one.

Does Teak contain menthol or fruit?

Neither. It’s a pure Classic blend tobacco stick with no cooling and no fruit added.

Is it a good flavor to start with?

It works, but Amber is the more common starting point because it’s simpler. Teak is usually the second or third flavor people buy, once they know what they want more of.

Is Teak available in the UAE edition too?

Yes, and it’s the one direct alternative to this pack. The UAE version comes in Arabic and English packaging at official pricing; this Kazakhstan release costs less.
