LAMBDA i8 Gold Device
LAMBDA i8 Green Device
LAMBDA i8 Grey Device
LAMBDA i8 Red Device
LAMBDA i8 White Device
The Lambda i8 is the value pick of the induction range, and the device we recommend most often to people who want TEREA without paying official IQOS prices.
It runs the same Smartcore induction heating as an IQOS ILUMA, works with every TEREA edition we stock, and adds two things official hardware doesn’t have: adjustable temperature from 200 to 300°C, and a 3200 mAh battery good for up to 40 sessions per charge. That battery is roughly double what an IQOS ILUMA i holder and charger manage between refills.
We stock it in Black, Gold, Green, Grey, Red and White, with delivery within 1 hour in Abu Dhabi and same-day across the UAE.
Why the i8 is the one most people should buy
The i9 adds an OLED display and a self-cleaning cycle. The i10 adds a leather-effect body and shaves three grams off the weight.
Neither changes how the device heats, how long the battery lasts, or which sticks work in it. The i8 has the same 3200 mAh cell, the same 200 to 300°C range, the same 3 to 6 minute adjustable session and the same TEREA compatibility as both, at the lowest price of the three.
If a screen and an automatic cleaning cycle matter to you, the i9 earns its premium. If a leather finish does, the i10. If neither does, the i8 is the same device without them, and our Lambda i8 review goes through it in detail.

What temperature control actually does
This is the feature worth buying a Lambda for, and most listings reduce it to a number on a spec sheet.
IQOS devices run one fixed heating profile for every stick, whatever you put in them. The i8 lets you set anywhere between 200 and 300°C, and the difference shows up in the flavour.
Lower settings give a lighter, cleaner draw where delicate aromas stay visible. That suits Silver with its spicy-herb notes, or a light citrus flavour like Yellow whose brightness gets flattened at higher heat.
Higher settings give denser vapour and more body, which is where full tobacco flavours like Amber and Sienna come alive.
Session length works the same way. Three minutes when you want something quick, six for a full session, rather than the fixed cycle official devices run.
If you smoke one flavour and never think about it, this won’t change your life. If you rotate across editions and notice the differences, it’s the single best reason to choose Lambda.
Build and materials
The i8 is built from aluminium alloy with PPSU and PEEK components, both high-temperature engineering plastics used because they hold up to repeated heating cycles without degrading. At 83 grams it’s light enough to forget in a pocket.
That build is one reason the i8 has stayed in the range while newer models arrived alongside it rather than replacing it.
Lambda or official IQOS
We sell both, so here’s the comparison without the sales pitch.
Where Lambda wins. Roughly double the battery, at up to 40 sessions against around 20. Adjustable temperature and session length where IQOS is fixed. And a lower price than official hardware of comparable capability.
Where IQOS wins. It’s Philip Morris hardware with a manufacturer warranty behind it, currently 24 months on the ILUMA i range. Lambda carries no PMI warranty, so whatever cover exists comes from the retailer. Official devices also get app support and firmware updates, which Lambda has no equivalent of.
Where they’re equal. Both heat the metal element inside a TEREA stick by induction, so the mechanism is genuinely identical and any TEREA edition works in either. Neither needs the blade-cleaning routine older IQOS devices required.
Our Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA comparison works through this properly.
Where the i8 sits in the Lambda range
Five Lambda models, and they don’t all do the same thing.
Lambda i8 is the induction value model: 3200 mAh, adjustable heat, aluminium body.
Lambda i9 adds an OLED display and an automatic self-cleaning cycle.
Lambda i10 is the newest, in a leather-effect finish at 80 grams.
Lambda T3 and Lambda CC are blade devices for HEETS, not induction devices for TEREA. They share the Lambda name and will not heat a TEREA stick, which catches people out regularly.
The full range is on our Lambda devices page.
The six colours
Identical devices, different finishes.
Black is the classic and hides marks best. Grey is the subdued neutral. White is the clean, minimal option and the brightest of the six. Gold is the warm metallic. Green is the muted colour choice, and Red is the bold one.
Setting it up
Charge it fully over USB-C before the first session. Insert a TEREA stick into the chamber up to the filter line without twisting, start heating, and wait for the ready signal before drawing.
Set temperature and session time through the device controls. Start in the middle of the range and adjust from there: raise the temperature if a flavour feels thin, lower it if it feels harsh or you want the aroma clearer.
The heating mechanism is the same as any ILUMA device, explained in how TEREA sticks work, and stick specifications are in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.
What it can and cannot heat
The i8 heats TEREA and other Smartcore sticks that carry an internal metal element, including SENTIA. Every TEREA edition works in it, because compatibility comes from the induction mechanism rather than the flavour or the market a pack was made for. That includes the Pearl capsule range.
It cannot heat HEETS, which have no metal element for induction to work on. HEETS users need the blade-based Lambda T3 and CC or the IQOS Originals range. Both directions are covered in HEETS in ILUMA and TEREA in IQOS 3 Duo, with every model listed in the device compatibility guide.
Sticks to buy with it
We stock all 75 TEREA flavours across five editions, and adjustable temperature makes exploring them more rewarding than it is on fixed-profile hardware.
For a first device, Amber suits full-flavour cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers, and Turquoise suits menthol smokers.
Edition affects price more than taste. Most customers buy the Kazakhstan range, on cost and for its five Pearl capsule flavours. Armenia is cheaper with a shorter lineup, Japan and Indonesia carry exclusives, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging. The reason for the gap is in why imported TEREA costs less, and every flavour is on the TEREA flavors page.
Pairing an i8 with a Kazakhstan or Armenia carton is the cheapest complete setup we sell, which is worth knowing if you’re switching from cigarettes and pricing the whole thing up.
Care in the UAE
Heat shortens lithium battery life faster than use does, and a 3200 mAh battery left in a parked car through an Abu Dhabi summer will degrade sooner than one kept indoors. Keep it out of direct sun.
Use the supplied USB-C cable and avoid using the device while it’s charging. Induction devices don’t collect tobacco residue the way blade devices do, so there’s no cleaning routine to keep up with.
Delivery
Every colour is stocked in Abu Dhabi with delivery inside 1 hour across the city, covering Khalifa City, Al Reem Island, Yas Island, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. Same-day delivery reaches Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Cash on delivery available, free delivery above 200 AED.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Lambda i8 work with all TEREA sticks?
Yes. Compatibility comes from the induction mechanism rather than the flavour or market, so every TEREA edition works, including the Pearl capsule flavours. It also handles SENTIA and other Smartcore sticks.
How many sessions per charge?
Up to 40 from the 3200 mAh battery, roughly double what an IQOS ILUMA i delivers between charges.
i8, i9 or i10?
Same battery, same temperature range, same compatibility across all three. The i9 adds an OLED display and a self-cleaning cycle, the i10 adds a leather finish and three grams less weight, and the i8 is the cheapest.
Is it an official IQOS product?
No. Lambda is a third-party manufacturer, so there’s no Philip Morris warranty. Any cover comes from the retailer, which is worth confirming wherever you buy.
What does adjusting the temperature change?
Lower settings give a lighter draw with delicate aromas more visible. Higher settings give denser vapour and more body. It’s the main practical reason to choose Lambda over fixed-profile IQOS hardware.
Can it heat HEETS?
No. HEETS have no metal element inside, so induction can’t heat them. The blade-based Lambda T3 and CC handle HEETS instead.
Does it need cleaning?
Not the way a blade device does. Nothing inside touches the tobacco, so no residue collects and there’s no cleaning routine.
