How the capsule works

The capsule is a small liquid bead sitting inside the filter, marked so you know where to press. Squeeze that point between finger and thumb until you feel it give, and the flavoring releases into the airflow.

Two things follow from that design, and neither is obvious from a product photo.

The stick tastes different before and after. Unclicked, you’re smoking the tobacco base, and on most Pearls that’s a perfectly good stick on its own. Clicked, the released flavor takes the lead and the tobacco drops to a supporting note.

And the capsule changes flavor, not strength. Every Pearl stick carries the same 0.5mg of nicotine as every other TEREA stick, clicked or not.

When to click, and what actually changes

This makes more difference than which Pearl you buy, and almost no product page explains it.

Before the first puff. You get the released flavor throughout, at its brightest in the opening draws before settling into a steady note. Choose this if you bought the stick for the fruit or the cooling and want all of it.

Around the halfway mark, roughly puff seven. This is the intended experience and where most regular Pearl users land. A warm tobacco opening turns cool or fruity in the second half, and the contrast is sharper because your palate has adjusted to the tobacco before the change arrives.

In the final third. Less stick remains for the flavor to develop, so the effect is smaller, though it does refresh a session that was starting to feel heavy.

Not at all. You’ve bought a decent tobacco stick. That’s a legitimate way to use a pack, and useful if you share packs with someone who dislikes fruit flavors.

One practical note that prevents the most common complaint. Press firmly enough to feel the capsule give way. A half-press releases part of the flavoring and leaves the rest, which is almost always what people mean when they say a Pearl stick tasted weak.

The seven Pearl flavors we stock

Five come from Kazakhstan, which carries the widest Pearl range of any TEREA market, and two more from Japan and Indonesia.

Which Pearl should you start with?

Sun Pearl, if this is your first capsule stick. It’s the mildest of the seven, the citrus release is bright rather than heavy, and it’s the one least likely to feel like too much on a first try.

From there the choices are straightforward. Twilight Pearl if you want berry and something for the evening; the blueberry is clearly identifiable rather than a vague sweetness. Tidal Pearl if cooling is the point, since it’s the coldest of the range on release. Provence Pearl if you want the fruitiest. Starling Pearl if you want something no other stick tastes like, with strawberry and basil reading closer to perfume than dessert. Oasis Pearl if you want a creamier tobacco base under the tropical release.

Riviera Pearl is the rarest of them and hard to find anywhere else in the UAE, which is reason enough for some buyers.

Where to find Pearl flavors

This is the part that decides which edition you buy from.

The Kazakhstan range carries five Pearls, the widest anywhere, alongside eleven classic flavors. It also sits in the budget tier, which is why it’s our best-selling edition overall.

The Japan range carries Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl within its nineteen flavors, at premium pricing. The Indonesia range carries Sun Pearl, Oasis Pearl and the rare Riviera Pearl among twenty-one flavors, in the budget tier.

The UAE edition has none, and neither does Armenia. If capsules are what you want, those two ranges can’t help, whatever else they offer.

Storage matters more with Pearls

The capsule is a liquid bead, and heat degrades it faster than it degrades tobacco. A pack left in an Abu Dhabi car through the afternoon will lose noticeable capsule intensity, and once that’s gone, clicking releases less than it should.

Keep Pearl packs somewhere cool, sealed until you open them, and in their original packaging. This applies more to Pearls than to any other TEREA flavor, and it’s worth knowing before you buy a carton in July.

Specs and devices

Every Pearl stick carries 0.5mg nicotine and gives up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes. Packs hold 20 sticks, cartons 200 across 10 packs, and cartons cost less per stick.

Pearls work in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. They will not heat in the IQOS 3 Duo, Originals models, lil Solid, Lambda T3 or Lambda CC, because those use blades rather than induction. Frequently asked questions

Do I have to click the capsule?

No. Unclicked, a Pearl is a tobacco stick, and most of the bases are good on their own. Many customers alternate within the same pack depending on the moment.

What happens if I click too early or too late?

Nothing goes wrong either way. Clicking early gives you the released flavor throughout; clicking late gives you less of it because there’s less stick left. Around halfway is where the contrast is sharpest.

Why did my Pearl taste weak after clicking?

Almost always a half-press. The capsule needs to give way properly, so press firmly at the marked point until you feel it break.

Which Pearl is the strongest?

Tidal Pearl for cooling, Provence Pearl for fruit intensity. None carries more nicotine than any other, since every TEREA stick is 0.5mg.

Are Pearl flavors available in the UAE edition?

No. The UAE and Armenia ranges carry no capsule flavors. Kazakhstan has five, Japan two, and Indonesia three including the rare Riviera Pearl.

Can I use a Pearl stick twice?
