Turquoise is the menthol every other cooling stick gets compared against. Clean, strong menthol with a citrus edge over a light tobacco base, and no fruit sweetness anywhere in it. If Amber is the reference tobacco, Turquoise is the reference menthol, and it’s the flavor most menthol cigarette smokers switch to and stay with.
We stock it in three editions. This page puts them side by side, because the price difference between them is wider than the taste difference.
What Turquoise tastes like
Menthol leads from the first draw. A citrus brightness sits alongside it rather than underneath, and the tobacco base stays light and clean, present enough to give the stick body without competing for attention. There’s no sweetness, no fruit and nothing creamy about it. That restraint is why it works for people who find flavored menthols cloying.
The cooling is strong but not extreme. It registers properly in Abu Dhabi heat, which is the whole reason menthol sells as well as it does here, while stopping short of the ice-cold territory that Black Menthol occupies.
The aroma is fresh and clean, sharper than a tobacco stick but far less carrying than a berry or clove flavor. It clears from a room quickly.
Across a session the cooling stays consistent while the citrus fades slightly. The opening draws are the brightest, with the citrus most obvious. Through the middle the menthol settles into a steady cool and the tobacco base becomes more noticeable. The final third is the most menthol-forward part of the stick, finishing clean and cool with no chemical aftertaste and nothing coating the palate.
Fourteen puffs at 0.5mg nicotine, and the cooling holds to the last one. Weaker menthols fade in the final third; this one doesn’t, and that consistency is a large part of its reputation.
Where Turquoise sits on the cooling scale
Menthol strength is the thing people actually want ranked, and no store ranks it. Here’s the honest order across everything we stock.
Lightest cooling comes from Mint in the Japan range, which reads as mint flavor more than as cold. Above it sits Menthol, the classic middle position. Turquoise sits above that: stronger, with the citrus edge that Menthol doesn’t have. Green and Blue occupy similar ground with different accents, Green leaning toasted and herbal, Blue leaning mint-forward.
At the top is Black Menthol, the coldest pure menthol we sell, with no fruit softening it at all. The Black prefix always marks the intensified version of whatever follows it.
If you want fruit with your cooling rather than more of it, Purple adds berry, and the Pearl capsule range lets you switch mid-session by pressing a bead in the filter.
The three Turquoise editions
Same blend concept, three markets, three prices.
Turquoise from the UAE is the official local release in Arabic and English packaging with UAE health warnings, at official RRP. Choose it if you’re gifting, if you want to read your own pack, or if provenance certainty matters more than price. It sits in the thirteen-flavor UAE range alongside the Dimensions trio.
Turquoise from Kazakhstan costs less and comes from the sixteen-flavor Kazakhstan range, which carries all five Pearl capsule flavors and the widest menthol selection we stock. If Turquoise is your starting point but you expect to explore cooling flavors further, this edition gives you the most room to do it.
Turquoise from Armenia is the cheapest of the three and the only true menthol in the six-flavor Armenian range. If Turquoise is simply what you smoke and you have no interest in trying anything else, this is the lowest price to keep buying it.
The gap between them comes from tobacco excise where each pack was produced rather than from anything in the stick, explained in why imported TEREA costs less. Batch tuning varies slightly by market and most people won’t notice; the price difference is the part you will. How all five editions compare is covered in the TEREA edition comparison.
Which Turquoise should you buy?
Armenia if you know Turquoise is your flavor and price is what matters. Kazakhstan if you want the cheaper price and access to a wider menthol range in the same edition. UAE if packaging language, gifting or official provenance is the deciding factor.
For anyone unsure between the two imported editions, the Kazakhstan pack is the safer first order. It costs slightly more than Armenia but puts fifteen other flavors within reach if Turquoise turns out to be a starting point rather than a destination.
Coming from menthol cigarettes
Turquoise is the closest equivalent, and the switch is usually straightforward. Two differences catch people out.
The first is the absence of harshness. Menthol cigarettes deliver cooling alongside smoke, and the throat sensation people associate with menthol is partly combustion. Turquoise gives the cooling without that, which some switchers initially read as the stick being weaker than it is. It isn’t; give it a full pack before judging.
The second is the aftertaste, or the lack of one. There’s no ash, no lingering smoke, and the cool finish clears within minutes rather than sitting on your palate. That’s the change most people notice first and appreciate most.
If Turquoise turns out to be milder than you want, Black Menthol is the step up in the Japan range. If it’s stronger than you want, Silver is worth knowing about, though be aware it’s a mild tobacco with a herb aroma rather than a light menthol, despite what the name suggests.
Specs and devices
Every Turquoise stick carries 0.5mg nicotine and gives up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes, in any edition. Packs hold 20 sticks, cartons hold 200 across 10 packs, and cartons cost less per stick.
Turquoise heats in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. Blade devices, meaning the IQOS 3 Duo, Originals models, lil Solid, Lambda T3 and Lambda CC, cannot heat TEREA at all. How TEREA sticks work explains why, and the device compatibility guide lists every model.
One habit worth adopting with any menthol: give the holder a few minutes before switching to a plain tobacco stick. Menthol leaves more residual aroma in the airflow than tobacco does, and it will carry into an Amber or a Sienna if you go straight from one to the other.
Every flavor we stock is on the TEREA flavors page, and the complete catalogue is in the full TEREA sticks range.
Delivery
All three Turquoise editions are stocked in Abu Dhabi with delivery inside 1 hour across the city, and same-day service to Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Cash on delivery available, free delivery above 200 AED.
Frequently asked questions
Is Turquoise the strongest menthol TEREA makes?
No. Black Menthol in the Japan range is colder, with no citrus or fruit softening it. Turquoise is the strong-but-balanced option, which is why it’s the reference point rather than the extreme.
Does Turquoise have fruit in it?
No. The citrus is a bright edge on the menthol, not a fruit flavor. If you want berry with cooling, Purple is the one, and the Pearl capsules go further still.
Which Turquoise edition is cheapest?
Armenia, followed closely by Kazakhstan, with the official UAE version at RRP. The blend is the same in all three; the difference is tax at source and packaging language.
Is it too strong for someone new to menthol?
Most people find it comfortable, but if you’ve never smoked menthol, Mint in the Japan range is gentler and reads as mint flavor rather than cold.
Will menthol flavor stay in my device?
A little aroma lingers in the holder after a menthol stick. It doesn’t affect the device and clears on its own, but leaving a few minutes before a plain tobacco stick keeps the next session clean.
Can I use Turquoise from one edition in a device bought elsewhere?
Yes. There’s no regional lock on TEREA sticks of any kind. Any edition runs in any ILUMA, ILUMA i or Lambda i-series device.
