LAMBDA CC Black Device

Before you order: the Lambda CC is a blade device for HEETS and does not heat TEREA sticks. TEREA users need an induction device, covered further down this page.

For HEETS users, Black is the classic CC finish and the most practical of the six. On a device you’ll handle and clean regularly, it hides fingerprints and everyday scuffs better than the metallic or white finishes do.

Every CC performs identically, so the finish is the only difference between them.

Specifications

What the CC does that other blade devices don’t

Most blade devices give you one heating profile and a status light. The CC gives you control that’s unusual in this category.

Temperature runs from 200 to 300°C, adjustable rather than fixed or limited to two presets. Lower settings give a lighter, cleaner draw; higher settings give more body and denser vapour. Session length is adjustable too, from 3 to 6 minutes. An LED display shows temperature, battery level and session time rather than colour-coded lights.

And the 3200 mAh battery is more than double the Lambda T3 at 1500 mAh, and considerably more than any official IQOS blade device manages.

CC or T3

The CC has more than double the battery, an LED display rather than indicator lights, and fully adjustable temperature and session length. The T3 is simpler and lighter, with a fixed 5 minute 30 second session and two temperature levels, and it charges faster at around 70 minutes. The CC is the better device; the T3 is the more convenient one.

Why the blade material matters

Every official IQOS blade device is built around a ceramic blade, and ceramic snaps. A twisted stick on the way out is all it takes, and a snapped blade is a dead device rather than a repair job. Ask anyone who has owned an IQOS 3 Duo or Originals model long enough.

Titanium steel alloy doesn’t fail that way, which is the single strongest reason to buy third-party in this category.

You will need to clean it

There’s no avoiding this with a blade device. The blade goes inside the tobacco every session, so residue accumulates whether you like it or not.

Run the automatic cycle regularly, and take a brush and cleaning sticks to it every few weeks. Muted flavour and uneven heating are the symptoms of a device that’s overdue.

Thinking about switching to TEREA

It’s a common move, and this device won’t make the trip. TEREA heats by induction, which blade hardware can’t do.

Your options are the induction models here, the Lambda i8, i9 and i10, or official IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i hardware.

Before you buy

This isn’t Philip Morris hardware, so no PMI warranty applies and any cover comes from your retailer. Ask what that cover is. Sticks are sold separately from the device.

Looking after it here

Abu Dhabi summers are hard on lithium batteries, considerably harder than daily use is. Parked cars and dashboards are the two places to keep it away from.

The other half of ownership is cleaning. Neglect it and flavour drops off within weeks, which is the complaint most blade device owners eventually have and the easiest one to never have.

Frequently asked questions

Does black perform differently from the other finishes?

No. Every Lambda CC shares the same blade, battery, temperature range and display. Only the finish changes.

Does it show fingerprints?

Less than any other finish in the range. Black is the most forgiving of the six on daily marks.

Does it work with TEREA sticks?

No. The CC is a blade device and TEREA needs induction heating. For TEREA you need the Lambda i8, i9 or i10, or an IQOS ILUMA model.

Which sticks does it work with?

HEETS, Marlboro heatsticks, Parliament, Fiit and similar blade-compatible sticks.

Does it need cleaning?

Yes, regularly. Blade devices collect residue by design. The automatic function handles routine upkeep, and periodic manual cleaning keeps flavour quality up.

No. Lambda is a third-party manufacturer, so there’s no Philip Morris warranty. Any cover comes from the retailer.
