Turquoise is the menthol every other cooling stick gets measured against. When someone in the TEREA world says a flavor is “colder than standard menthol” or “gentler than the classic,” Turquoise is the standard and the classic they mean. It’s clean, strong menthol over tobacco with a citrus edge, and it has been the default menthol choice since the range launched.

If you smoked menthol cigarettes and want the closest direct replacement, buy this first and use it to judge everything else.

About the flavor

The hierarchy puts menthol firmly in front, a light citrus lift second, and tobacco third but still clearly present. That last part matters. Turquoise is not a mint sweet with tobacco somewhere behind it; the tobacco base stays visible under the cooling, which is exactly why ex-menthol-cigarette smokers find it convincing where softer sticks feel hollow.

The aroma is fresh and clean rather than sweet or medicinal. It carries less than a fruit menthol and more than a plain tobacco stick, sitting comfortably in the middle of the range for discretion.

Across a session the cooling holds its level rather than spiking. The opening draws are the sharpest, with the citrus most obvious right at the start. Through the middle the menthol settles into a steady cold and the tobacco base becomes easier to taste underneath it. The final third stays cool without turning bitter or thin, and the finish is crisp and short, leaving your palate clear rather than coated. Fourteen puffs at 0.5mg nicotine, and the consistency is the whole appeal.

There’s no capsule and nothing to click. What you taste on the first draw is what you get to the last, which is the opposite of how the Pearl sticks in this range work.

Where Turquoise sits on the cooling ladder

Kazakhstan carries a full menthol spread, and Turquoise is the reference point in the middle of it.

Softer than Turquoise: Blue is mint-forward with a cooler, rounder finish and less bite. Sharper in a different direction: Green Zing pushes citrus hard and drops the sweetness, which some people find more refreshing and others find too sour. With fruit added: Purple brings berry into the cooling, Ruby Fuse does the same with red berry, and Summer Wave is the lightest tropical version.

Colder than anything here: the Japanese Black Menthol is the maximum-cooling stick in the whole TEREA catalogue, for people who find Turquoise merely pleasant.

One flavor that is not an alternative, despite the name suggesting otherwise: Silver is a mild tobacco stick with herb notes and contains no menthol at all. The full sixteen-flavor lineup is on our TEREA Kazakhstan flavors page, and every Turquoise we carry is collected on the Turquoise flavor page.

Why buy Turquoise from the Kazakhstan range

Turquoise is one of the flavors that appears across most TEREA markets, so the question isn’t whether to buy it but where from.

The Kazakhstan release is the budget option among the versions we stock, and it uses the same colour-name system as UAE packs, so there’s no relearning involved. We also carry Turquoise in the UAE edition, the official local release with Arabic and English packaging at RRP, and in the Armenia edition, which is cheaper still but comes from a six-flavor lineup with far less around it.

The price gap between them comes from tobacco excise in each source market rather than anything in the pack, which we’ve explained in why imported TEREA costs less. The wider comparison of all five editions is in the TEREA edition comparison, and everything we stock sits in the full TEREA sticks range.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, with cartons cheaper per stick. Kazakhstan stock arrives factory-sealed in the familiar turquoise packaging, printed in Kazakh and Russian with Kazakhstan health warnings and the flavor name in Latin script. Imported-language packaging is normal here; broken seals and misspelled flavor names are not, and our guide to spotting fake TEREA covers the checks worth doing.

Using it well

Slide the stick printed-end up into the holder without twisting. Current ILUMA devices start heating on their own, older models want the button held until the first vibration, and a second vibration means ready. Up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes, and the spent stick comes out whole for general waste with no ash and nothing left inside the device. The reason nothing burns is covered in how TEREA sticks work, and full stick specs are in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.

Menthol sticks leave more aroma in a holder than plain tobacco, so if a light flavor like Silver or Yellow is next in your rotation, run Turquoise second or give the device a few minutes in between. And in summer, keep packs out of a parked car: heat flattens menthol before it flattens tobacco, and a baked pack will taste noticeably weaker than a fresh one.

Devices

Works in every induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, all of the ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. No blade device can heat TEREA, the IQOS 3 Duo included, and every model is listed in our device compatibility guide.

Frequently asked questions

How strong is the menthol in Turquoise?

Strong and steady rather than extreme. It’s the benchmark cooling level in the TEREA range, which means most other menthols are described as either softer or colder than this one. If you want maximum cold, Black Menthol from the Japan range goes considerably further.

Is Turquoise the same as Silver?

No. Silver has no menthol at all despite what the name suggests to most people; it’s a mild tobacco stick with herb notes. Turquoise is the actual menthol in this range.

Does it taste artificial?

No. The menthol is clean rather than medicinal, and the citrus edge is subtle. The tobacco base stays present underneath, which is what keeps it from tasting like a mint product.

Turquoise or Blue?

Turquoise is sharper with a citrus edge; Blue is mint-forward and rounder. If you’re replacing menthol cigarettes, Turquoise is the closer match. If you want the cooling gentler, Blue.

Is Kazakhstan Turquoise the same as the UAE version?

Same blend concept and the same name. Batch tuning varies slightly by market and most people notice no difference, but the Kazakhstan pack costs less and comes with Kazakh and Russian printing rather than Arabic and English.
