About the flavor

The hierarchy is menthol first, a citrus lift second, and light tobacco underneath holding it together. There’s no fruit sweetness and no herbal complication, which is exactly why it works as the standard: nothing distracts from the cooling.

The citrus is a brightening note rather than a flavor of its own. It keeps the menthol from tasting flat or medicinal, the way most strong cooling sticks eventually do, and it’s the detail that separates Turquoise from cheaper menthols.

The aroma is fresh and clean, more noticeable in a room than a plain tobacco stick but nothing like a clove or a berry capsule. It clears quickly.

Through a session the cooling arrives on the first draw and holds. That consistency is what people pay for. Weaker menthols peak early and fade through the middle, leaving you with a plain tobacco stick by the last third; Turquoise doesn’t do that. The middle is where the citrus is clearest, sitting between the cold and the tobacco. The final third stays cold and finishes clean, leaving a lingering freshness in the throat without any chemical aftertaste. Fourteen puffs at 0.5mg nicotine, cold from first to last.

The only menthol in this edition

Armenia carries six flavors, and Turquoise is the single dedicated cooling option among them. That’s worth knowing before you order, because the other five go in different directions.

Purple Wave is the nearest thing to an alternative, berry sweetness with cooling behind it, softer and rounder than a straight menthol. It’s the choice if you want fruit with your cold rather than cold on its own. Everything else in the range is tobacco: Amber, Sienna, Yellow and Silver, which despite its name has no menthol in it at all.

If you want variety in cooling specifically, this is where the Armenian range runs out and other editions take over. Kazakhstan adds Blue as a mint-forward option, Green Zing for sharper citrus, Ruby Fuse and Summer Wave on the fruit side, plus five Pearl capsule flavors. Japan carries ten menthol variants including Black Menthol, which is the strongest cooling stick TEREA makes. Why buy the Armenian version

Turquoise sits in three of our five editions, and this is the cheapest of them.

The reason is tax, not quality. Armenia’s tobacco taxation and retail pricing sit among the lowest of any TEREA market, below Kazakhstan’s and well below the UAE’s 100% excise plus VAT. Turquoise comes in its distinctive blue-green design, factory-sealed, printed for the Armenian market with Armenian health warnings and the flavor name in Latin script. Menthol packs are worth storing a little more carefully than tobacco ones. The cooling compound is volatile, and a pack left somewhere hot for weeks will lose noticeable intensity before a plain tobacco pack shows any change at all.

Using it

Insert the stick printed-end up without twisting. Current ILUMA models start heating automatically; older ones need the button held until the first vibration, with a second vibration to signal ready. Up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes at 0.5mg nicotine, and the used stick comes out whole for general waste. Strong menthol leaves more residual aroma in a holder than tobacco does. If you alternate between Turquoise and something like Amber or Yellow, run the tobacco stick first, or the menthol will carry over and flatten it.

How strong is the menthol?

Strong and steady rather than extreme. Turquoise is the reference cooling stick, which means it sets the standard other menthols are described against. If you want it colder, Black Menthol in the Japan range is the strongest TEREA makes.

Is there any fruit in it?

No. The citrus is an aroma note that brightens the menthol, not a fruit flavor. For berry sweetness with cooling, Purple Wave is the option in this edition.

Is Armenian Turquoise different from the UAE one?

Same blend and same name, with minor batch tuning between markets that most people won’t notice. The real differences are packaging language and price.

Are there other menthols in the Armenian range?

Only Purple Wave, which is a fruit-menthol rather than a pure one. Silver is a tobacco flavor despite the name. For a wider menthol selection, the Kazakhstan and Japan editions are where to look.

Will it stay cold through the whole stick?
