That’s the whole difference between the finishes. Every i8 has the same battery, the same adjustable heating and the same TEREA compatibility.

Why people choose Lambda over official hardware

It comes down to battery and control.

The 3200 mAh cell gives up to 40 sessions between charges, where an IQOS ILUMA i holder and charger manage around twenty. If running out mid-day irritates you, that gap is the reason to be here.

Then there’s heat. Official devices run a single fixed profile whatever stick you put in. This one moves between 200 and 300°C, and the flavour follows: cooler for a cleaner draw that keeps delicate aromas like Silver intact, hotter for the density that makes Amber and Sienna worth buying.

i8, i9 or i10

Three induction models, one set of internals. The i9 puts an OLED screen on the front and adds a self-cleaning cycle. The i10 wraps the same hardware in a leather-effect finish and trims it to 80 grams. Battery, heat range and stick compatibility are identical across all three, which makes the i8 the cheapest way to get exactly this performance. The Lambda i8 review goes deeper.

Getting started

Give it a full charge over USB-C before you use it. Then slide a TEREA stick into the chamber as far as the filter line, without twisting it, and start the heating cycle. Wait for the ready signal before your first draw.

On temperature, the middle of the range is the sensible starting point. From there, go up if a flavour tastes thin and down if it tastes harsh or you want more aroma coming through.

Sticks it works with

Any TEREA edition we stock, plus SENTIA and other Smartcore sticks. Compatibility depends on the metal element inside the stick rather than the flavour or the market it was made for, so the Pearl capsule range works exactly like everything else.

HEETS won’t heat in it at all. There’s no metal element in a HEETS stick, so induction has nothing to act on. For HEETS you need the blade-based Lambda T3 or CC, or the IQOS Originals range. What to smoke in it

Looking after it here

The thing that kills these batteries is heat, not use. A 3200 mAh cell left on a dashboard through an Abu Dhabi summer will lose capacity far faster than one kept in a bag or a drawer.

Stick to the supplied USB-C cable, don’t run sessions while it’s plugged in, and that’s the whole routine. Nothing inside touches tobacco, so there’s no residue and no cleaning.

The six colours

One practical note: metallic finishes show fingerprints sooner than black does. It wipes clean easily, but black stays looking new for longer.

Does gold perform differently from the other finishes?

No. Every Lambda i8 shares the same battery, heating, temperature range and features.

Does the gold finish mark easily?

Metallics show fingerprints more readily than black. Grey is the compromise if you want a metal look with less upkeep.

Does it work with all TEREA sticks?

Yes. Compatibility comes from the induction mechanism rather than the flavour or market, so every edition works, including the Pearl capsule range and SENTIA sticks.

How many sessions per charge?

Up to 40 from the 3200 mAh battery, roughly double what an IQOS ILUMA i delivers between charges.

i8, i9 or i10?

Same battery, temperature range and compatibility across all three. The i9 adds an OLED display and self-cleaning, the i10 adds a leather finish, and the i8 is the cheapest.

Is it an official IQOS product?

No. Lambda is a third-party manufacturer, so there’s no Philip Morris warranty. Any cover comes from the retailer.

Can it heat HEETS?

No. HEETS have no metal element inside, so induction can’t heat them. The blade-based Lambda T3 and CC handle HEETS instead.
