LAMBDA T3 Blue Device

Before you order: the Lambda T3 is a blade device for HEETS and does not heat TEREA sticks. If TEREA is what you use, you need an induction device, covered further down this page.

For HEETS users, Blue sits in the middle of the T3 range. More distinctive than black, considerably calmer than the gold or red, it’s the finish that looks chosen without becoming the first thing anyone notices.

Every T3 is identical inside, so the colour is the whole difference.

How the controls work

Two buttons, and the indicator light does most of the communicating.

The upper button is the main control: one click for a battery check, a two-second hold to start heating, five clicks to run the automatic cleaning cycle, which takes about 30 seconds.

The lower button switches temperature mode. Hold it for two seconds to move between standard, shown white and set as default, and high, shown yellow. Battery level uses the same light: white means 100 to 30 percent, yellow means 30 percent down to empty, red means charge it now.

The heating cradle is magnetic and removable, which makes both removing a used stick and reaching the blade for cleaning easier than on a fixed-chamber device.

T3 or Lambda CC

The Lambda CC has more than double the battery at 3200 mAh against 1500, an LED display rather than indicator lights, and fully adjustable temperature and session length rather than two presets and a fixed 5 minute 30 second cycle. The T3 is simpler and lighter, and it charges faster at around 70 minutes. The CC is the better device; the T3 is the more convenient one.

Titanium rather than ceramic

The blade is where blade devices die. Official IQOS hardware uses ceramic, which cracks if a stick is twisted during removal, and once it goes the device is finished.

A titanium steel alloy blade removes that failure mode entirely. It’s not a flavour improvement, it’s a longevity one, and it’s the reason people replace a broken IQOS with one of these rather than another IQOS.

Residue and maintenance

A blade sits in the tobacco for the whole session, which means residue. It’s inherent to the design, not a defect in this particular device.

Routine upkeep runs through the automatic cycle. Beyond that, periodic manual cleaning with a brush and cleaning sticks is what separates a blade device that stays good for years from one that disappoints within months.

Moving from HEETS to TEREA

If you’re weighing this up, know that the device doesn’t transfer. TEREA relies on induction, and no blade device can heat it.

Induction options in this range are the Lambda i8, i9 and i10. Official ones are IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i.

Warranty and what’s included

Lambda sits outside the Philip Morris ecosystem, which means no manufacturer warranty; whatever protection exists comes from the seller. Worth checking before ordering anywhere. Sticks aren’t included.

Keeping it working

Two habits. Keep it cool, because heat degrades a lithium battery faster than any amount of use, and an Abu Dhabi car in summer is the worst place for one.

And clean it on a schedule rather than when it starts tasting off. Blade devices reward the habit and punish neglect quickly.

The five colours

Blue is the cool mid-range choice. Black is the classic that hides marks best, Army Green is the muted option, Gold is the warm metallic, and Red is the bold one. All five sit on the Lambda T3 collection page.

The T3 comes in two body types, all-aluminium and aluminium with 2.5D tempered glass. The glass version grips better in the hand but shows fingerprints more.

Frequently asked questions

Does blue perform differently from the other colours?

No. Every Lambda T3 shares the same blade, battery and features. Only the finish changes.

Which finish shows marks least?

Black, followed by Army Green. The metallic gold shows fingerprints soonest.

Does it work with TEREA sticks?

No. The T3 is a blade device and TEREA needs induction heating. For TEREA you need the Lambda i8, i9 or i10, or an IQOS ILUMA model.

Which sticks does it work with?

HEETS, Marlboro heatsticks, Parliament, Fiit and similar blade-compatible sticks.

How many sticks per charge?

Between 18 and 20 from the 1500 mAh battery, recharging in about 70 minutes.

Does it need cleaning?

Yes, regularly. Blade devices collect residue by design. The automatic cycle takes about 30 seconds, and periodic manual cleaning keeps flavour quality up.

Is it an official IQOS product?

No. Lambda is a third-party manufacturer, so there’s no Philip Morris warranty. Any cover comes from the retailer.
