LAMBDA T3 Gold Device

Before you order: the Lambda T3 is a blade device for HEETS and does not heat TEREA sticks. TEREA users need an induction device, covered further down this page.

For HEETS users, Gold is the warm metallic in the T3 range and the most eye-catching of the five. It’s the option for people who want a device that looks like a considered object rather than a piece of equipment.

Every T3 performs identically, so the finish is the only thing that separates them.

How the controls work

Two buttons, and the indicator light does most of the communicating.

The upper button is the main control: one click for a battery check, a two-second hold to start heating, five clicks to run the automatic cleaning cycle, which takes about 30 seconds.

The lower button switches temperature mode. Hold it for two seconds to move between standard, shown white and set as default, and high, shown yellow. Battery level uses the same light: white means 100 to 30 percent, yellow means 30 percent down to empty, red means charge it now.

The heating cradle is magnetic and removable, which makes both removing a used stick and reaching the blade for cleaning easier than on a fixed-chamber device.

T3 or Lambda CC

The Lambda CC has more than double the battery at 3200 mAh against 1500, an LED display rather than indicator lights, and fully adjustable temperature and session length rather than two presets and a fixed 5 minute 30 second cycle. The T3 is simpler and lighter, and it charges faster at around 70 minutes. The CC is the better device; the T3 is the more convenient one.

The blade, and why it’s different

Ceramic blades are the weak point of every official IQOS blade device. Twist a stick as you pull it free and the blade can crack, which ends the device rather than damaging it. That’s the usual cause of death for an IQOS 3 Duo or Originals model.

This runs a titanium steel alloy blade instead, which survives the same treatment. If you’ve broken one before, you already know why that matters.

Keeping the blade clean

Residue is unavoidable on any blade device, since the blade is inside the tobacco throughout each session.

The automatic function covers day-to-day upkeep. A brush and cleaning sticks every few weeks covers the rest, and it’s worth the habit: most complaints about blade devices are really complaints about uncleaned ones.

Switching to TEREA later

Worth knowing now rather than after you buy: TEREA needs induction heating, so a blade device can’t be part of that switch.

Purchase notes

No PMI warranty applies to any Lambda device, since Lambda is an independent manufacturer. Retailer cover is the only cover, so ask about it. Sticks are ordered separately.

Practical care

Heat is the main threat to the battery, so avoid leaving it in parked cars or in direct sun through the summer months.

Cleaning is the other half. A blade device left uncleaned loses flavour within weeks, and no amount of temperature adjustment compensates for a dirty blade.

The five colours

Gold is the warm metallic and the most visible of the five. Red is the bold non-metallic, Blue is the cool mid-range option, Army Green is the muted one, and Black is the classic that hides marks best. All five sit on the Lambda T3 collection page.

One practical note: metallic finishes show fingerprints sooner than black does, and the tempered glass body version shows them more again. If a spotless device matters to you, black is the safer pick.

Frequently asked questions

Does gold perform differently from the other colours?

No. Every Lambda T3 shares the same blade, battery and features.

Does the gold finish mark easily?

Metallic finishes show fingerprints more readily than black does. It wipes clean easily, but black stays looking new for longer.

Does it work with TEREA sticks?

No. The T3 is a blade device and TEREA needs induction heating. For TEREA you need the Lambda i8, i9 or i10, or an IQOS ILUMA model.

Which sticks does it work with?

HEETS, Marlboro heatsticks, Parliament, Fiit and similar blade-compatible sticks.

How many sticks per charge?

Between 18 and 20 from the 1500 mAh battery, recharging in about 70 minutes.

Does it need cleaning?

Yes, regularly. Blade devices collect residue by design. The automatic cycle takes about 30 seconds, and periodic manual cleaning keeps flavour quality up.

Is it an official IQOS product?

No. Lambda is a third-party manufacturer, so there’s no Philip Morris warranty. Any cover comes from the retailer.
