Purple Wave is the only sweet flavor in the Armenian range, and it’s the one people buy when a straight menthol feels too plain. Dark berry over a light tobacco base with cooling behind it, and the cooling sits at a level that lifts the fruit rather than taking over from it.

It’s the softest of the six Armenian flavors and the easiest to like on a first try, which is why it’s a common first order alongside Amber for people building a starter carton.

About the flavor

The hierarchy runs berry first, menthol second, tobacco third. That order matters: this is a fruit stick with cooling attached, not a menthol stick with fruit added, and it tastes noticeably different from Turquoise as a result.

The berry reads as dark and ripe, closer to blackcurrant or blackberry than to a bright red fruit. It’s sweet, but the sweetness comes with a slight tartness underneath that keeps it from turning syrupy. The tobacco base stays light throughout and mostly does structural work, giving the stick body so you’re not inhaling flavoured air.

The aroma is fruity and noticeable in a room, more so than any tobacco stick in this range though less than a clove Edition. If discretion matters, Silver is the quiet option in this lineup.

Through a session the berry is brightest in the opening draws, then settles as the menthol builds behind it. The middle stretch is the most balanced part, fruit and cooling holding roughly even. The last third turns cooler and slightly drier as the sweetness recedes, finishing clean with a light fruity coolness rather than a sugary aftertaste. Fourteen puffs at 0.5mg nicotine, and it stays easy the whole way.

Purple Wave or Turquoise?

These are the two cooling flavors in the Armenian range, and choosing between them is the most common decision on this page.

Turquoise is the classic menthol: clean, strong, with a citrus edge and no sweetness. It’s the reference cooling stick of the entire TEREA catalogue, and it’s what to buy if you smoked menthol cigarettes and want the closest equivalent.

Purple Wave is gentler and sweeter, with the cooling running behind the fruit instead of leading. Buy it if menthol on its own feels one-dimensional to you, or if you want something for the evening rather than an all-day stick.

Plenty of people keep both and use them at different times, which is easy enough when this edition is priced the way it is.

If neither is quite right, the wider ranges have more options. Kazakhstan carries Purple, Ruby Fuse, Green Zing and Summer Wave in this same territory, plus five Pearl capsule flavors. Japan has ten menthol variants including the intensified Black line. The whole picture is in our TEREA edition comparison.

The same flavor, cheaper

Purple Wave also exists in the UAE edition and the Indonesian range, and this Armenian version is the cheapest of the three.

The blend concept is shared across all of them with minor batch differences by market. What you’re choosing between is packaging language and price: the UAE version comes in Arabic and English at official pricing, while Armenia and Indonesia are imported editions that cost less. The reason for the gap is tobacco excise in each source market, explained in why imported TEREA costs less.

The complete six-flavor Armenian lineup is on our TEREA Armenia flavors page, the deeper background is in the TEREA Armenia guide, and everything we stock sits in the full TEREA sticks range.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, with cartons cheaper per stick. Packs are factory-sealed, printed for the Armenian market with Armenian health warnings, and the flavor name stays in Latin script. Imported packaging is normal for this edition; a broken seal or a misspelled name is not, and the rest of the checks are in our guide to spotting fake TEREA.

Fruit flavors lose their character to heat faster than plain tobacco does, so keep packs out of a parked car in Abu Dhabi summer. The berry note flattens before the menthol does.

Using it

Insert the stick printed-end up without twisting. Current ILUMA models start heating automatically, older ones need the button held until the first vibration, and a second vibration signals ready. Up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes, and the used stick comes out whole for general waste because nothing burns. The system behind that is explained in how TEREA sticks work, with full specifications in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.

Fruit-menthol sticks leave more aroma in a holder than plain tobacco. If you’re switching to Amber or Silver straight afterwards, give the device a few minutes or the berry will carry into the next stick.

Devices

Heats in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the whole ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. Blade devices such as the IQOS 3 Duo cannot heat TEREA sticks, and every compatible model is listed in our device compatibility guide.

Delivery

In stock in Abu Dhabi with delivery inside 1 hour across the city, and same-day service to Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Cash on delivery available, free delivery above 200 AED.

Frequently asked questions

Is Purple Wave very sweet?

Moderately. The berry is dark and ripe with a tart edge underneath, so it reads as fruit rather than candy. If you want no sweetness at all, Turquoise is the flavor to buy.

How strong is the cooling?

Lighter than Turquoise. The menthol supports the berry instead of leading, which is the main difference between the two.

Does it contain a capsule?

No. Purple Wave is a fixed flavor from the first puff. The capsule flavors are the Pearl range, and none of them are in the Armenian edition.

Is this the same as Purple in the Kazakhstan range?

They’re close relatives rather than the same stick. Kazakhstan Purple is berry with menthol at a slightly sweeter, rounder balance. Purple Wave leans a little darker.

Is it a good first TEREA flavor?

For anyone who likes fruit flavors, yes. It’s the softest of the six Armenian sticks and the least likely to feel like a big change from what you’re used to.
