The Indonesian version is the one that generates the most discussion, and there’s a reason for that.

About the flavor

The hierarchy is menthol and dark berry arriving together, with the tobacco base supporting from underneath rather than competing. The berry is the forest-fruit kind, closer to blackberry and blackcurrant than to a bright red strawberry note, and the sweetness is present without turning into candy.

Through a session the cooling opens the stick, the berry builds through the first third, and the middle is where the two sit in genuine balance, sweet and cold at once. The final third leans cooler as the fruit recedes, finishing clean with a light berry sweetness on the palate rather than a syrupy one. Fourteen puffs, and the balance holds well throughout, which is why people describe it as an all-day flavor rather than an occasional one.

Why the Indonesian version divides people

This is the honest part, and it matters before you order.

Purple Wave exists in several markets, and stores in the UAE disagree openly about what the Indonesian one is like. Some describe it as the lighter, subtler version, smooth and easy. Others describe it as the strongest and most intense Purple in the range, with a bolder icy finish. Both descriptions are out there in print, and they can’t both be right.

Where the weight of actual user feedback lands is on the stronger side: Indonesian buyers and long-time reviewers tend to report it as more intense than versions from other markets, with a fuller tobacco presence behind the berry. That fits the Indonesian range generally, which is tuned to a market with a strong tobacco culture.

What we’d say honestly: expect a fuller, more aromatic Purple Wave than the UAE version, not a milder one. If you specifically want the gentler take, the UAE edition’s Purple Wave is the safer pick.

The same flavor at four different prices

Purple Wave or Black Purple?

Within the Indonesian range, Black Purple is the intensified sibling. Official descriptions of the two flavors are nearly identical, which tells you something useful: the difference is intensity, not direction. Purple Wave is the everyday version, Black Purple is the committed one. Getting a clean session

How cold is it?

Medium. It’s cooler than a plain tobacco stick and clearly warmer than Black Purple or a dedicated menthol like Black Menthol. The cooling is there to carry the berry, not to dominate.
