Turquoise is the most unusual finish in the ORIGINALS DUO range. It’s a proper colour rather than a tint, and it’s the one that looks least like standard consumer electronics, which is either exactly what you want from a device or exactly what you don’t.

Philip Morris introduced it as part of the colour refresh when the IQOS 3 DUO became ORIGINALS DUO. The form stayed identical; the palette got broader, and turquoise was the boldest addition to it.

Where it sits among the four

Silver is the classic, closest to how this device looked in its 3 DUO years. Slate is the dark neutral and the most forgiving on marks. Scarlet is the bold red.

Turquoise sits apart from all three. It’s the only cool colour in the set, and unlike red, which reads as an obvious statement, it’s distinctive without being aggressive about it. People notice it and rarely comment on it, which is a narrow space that few product colours occupy.

What you’re buying

A two-piece system. The holder runs each session and the pocket charger refills it, which gives two consecutive uses back to back and around 20 uses from a full charge of the charger.

Heating runs on HEATCONTROL technology through a flat, wide ceramic blade carrying platinum and gold tracks. The blade slides into a HEETS stick so its entire surface contacts the tobacco, heating from the inside out for a draw closer to a cigarette than a narrow element would give.

Worth being direct, because it’s the part people underestimate when moving from an ILUMA or comparing the two.

The blade is inside the tobacco for every session, so residue accumulates from the first stick onward. Left alone, flavour quality drops within weeks, and that’s the most common complaint about blade devices in general rather than this one specifically.

Two habits fix it. And pull sticks straight out rather than twisting, since twisting is what cracks ceramic blades, and a cracked blade ends the device rather than damaging it.

What it will and won’t heat

HEETS and other blade-compatible sticks: yes. TEREA: no, and not by choice. TEREA carries a metal element designed for induction, and a ceramic blade pushed into one damages both.

Care in the UAE

Heat is harder on the battery than heavy use, so keep both parts out of parked cars and off dashboards through summer. If the pocket charger flashes a temperature error, it’s been somewhere too hot and needs to cool before it will work normally.
