Philip Morris recommends cleaning ORIGINALS ONE daily. Not weekly, not when flavour drops off. Daily. The blade sits inside the tobacco through every session, so residue starts building from the first stick.

The routine itself takes under a minute. Wait for the device to cool, slide the cap upwards and remove it completely, insert the rotating head of the IQOS Dual Cleaning Tool and turn gently, then insert the sweeping head and move it side to side.

Two rules from the user guide that people break: never clean the device with any cleaning agent, and never immerse it or let it contact water or other liquids.

The blade

HEATCONTROL technology, using a flat, wide ceramic blade with platinum and gold tracks that slides into the HEETS stick so its full surface meets the tobacco. Broad contact spreads heat evenly, which is what produces the draw this line is known for.

Ceramic is brittle. Twisting a stick as you remove it is what cracks these blades, and a cracked blade ends the device rather than damaging it. Pull straight out, always.

What it will not take

TEREA. Not by restriction but by physics: TEREA carries a metal element designed for induction heating, and a ceramic blade pushed into one damages both.

Care in the UAE

Operating range is 0 to 40°C. A blinking red light usually means the device is outside it, and here that almost always means a hot car. Let it cool and it recovers; if red persists, reset by holding the button for 10 seconds.
