Lambda i9 vs i10 vs T3 vs CC: Which Lambda Device Should You Buy?

0 shares X
Lambda i9 and i10 induction devices for TEREA beside the Lambda T3 and CC blade devices for HEETS

Lambda makes five devices, and the four people compare most, the i9, i10, T3 and CC, are not four versions of the same thing. The i9 and i10 are induction devices built for TEREA. The T3 and CC are blade devices built for HEETS and similar heatsticks, and a TEREA stick will not heat in them at all. So the first decision is which sticks you use, not which device looks best. Once that is settled the choice gets simple: for TEREA it comes down to the i9’s OLED screen and self-cleaning cycle against the i10’s lighter, leather-finished body, and for HEETS it comes down to the T3’s simplicity against the CC’s bigger battery and full temperature control.

Start with your sticks

TEREA sticks carry a metal Smartcore element sealed inside, and only an induction device can heat it. HEETS have no metal element and need a heated blade pushed into the tobacco. Neither stick works in the other system. The full reason is in how TEREA sticks work.

Not sure which device takes which stick across every brand? Our TEREA compatibility guide lists them all.

For TEREA: Lambda i9 vs Lambda i10

Inside, these two are very close. Both are induction devices, both run a 3200 mAh battery, and both let you set the temperature anywhere from 200 to 300°C and the session from 3 to 6 minutes. At the same settings, a TEREA stick will behave the same in either one. The differences are on the outside, and in how you see what the device is doing.

Lambda i9: the one with the screen

The i9 adds an OLED screen that shows the exact temperature, battery level and session time. That matters more than it sounds. Adjustable temperature is only useful if you can see what you set, and on the i9 you are reading a number rather than counting lights. It also has an automatic self-cleaning cycle and an aluminium alloy body, and it gives up to 40 sessions per charge.

It comes in six colours, including the Lambda i9 Black, and costs AED 239.

Lambda i10: the lighter, leather-finished one

The i10 is the newest of Lambda’s induction models. It keeps the same battery and the same adjustable heating, then wraps them in a leather-effect exterior that grips better than metal and looks more like an accessory than a gadget. At 80 g it is the lightest of the three induction models, and it runs 35 to 40 sessions on a charge, which takes about 2.5 hours.

It uses indicator lights instead of a screen, and it has no self-cleaning cycle. It comes in five colours, such as the Lambda i10 Green, at AED 250.

Which one to pick

Pick the i9 if you plan to actually use the temperature control. Being able to read 230°C or 270°C on a screen makes it easy to find a setting you like for each flavour and get back to it.

Pick the i10 if feel and look matter more to you than a readout, or if you want the lightest device.

Do not let the self-cleaning cycle decide it. Induction keeps the tobacco sealed inside the stick, so very little residue reaches the chamber on any induction device, and a wipe of the opening now and then is enough.

If neither the screen nor the finish matters, the i8 runs the same battery and heating for AED 225. Our Lambda i8 review covers it in full.

For HEETS: Lambda T3 vs Lambda CC

Both are blade devices with a titanium steel alloy blade, and both take the same sticks: HEETS, Marlboro heatsticks, Parliament and Fiit. Here the differences are real, not cosmetic.

Lambda T3: simple and quick to charge

The T3 runs a 1500 mAh battery that covers 18 to 20 sticks and recharges in about 70 to 75 minutes. Sessions are fixed at 5 minutes 30 seconds, around 16 puffs, with two heat levels to choose from, standard and high. Two buttons and coloured lights handle everything, and an automatic cleaning cycle takes about 30 seconds. It costs AED 239, in five colours including the Lambda T3 Black.

Lambda CC: more battery, more control

The CC more than doubles the battery to 3200 mAh and brings over the full controls of Lambda’s induction range: temperature from 200 to 300°C and session length from 3 to 6 minutes. An LED display shows temperature, battery and session time, it has an automatic cleaning function, and it charges over USB-C. It costs AED 244, in six colours such as the Lambda CC Black.

Which one to pick

For most HEETS users, the CC. For AED 5 more you get more than twice the battery, a display, and real control over how each stick tastes.

Pick the T3 if you want the fewest settings possible and a battery that is back to full in just over an hour.

Either way, a blade device needs regular cleaning even with an automatic cycle, because the blade sits inside the tobacco. Our IQOS cleaning guide applies here too, and we stock cleaning tools and accessories.

One thing to know before buying a blade device

HEETS is still sold in the UAE, but Philip Morris has moved all new devices and flavours to TEREA, and no new HEETS flavour has appeared in years. We explain what that does and does not mean in is HEETS discontinued in the UAE. If you are buying a new device anyway, it is worth asking whether to stay on HEETS or switch to TEREA, which runs to 75 flavours across five editions on our site. If you do stay with HEETS, Philip Morris’s own blade devices are in the IQOS Originals range.

Quick picks

  • You use TEREA and want to see your exact settings: Lambda i9.
  • You use TEREA and want the lightest, best-looking device: Lambda i10.
  • You use TEREA and want the lowest price: Lambda i8.
  • You use HEETS and want long battery life and control: Lambda CC.
  • You use HEETS and want it simple with fast charging: Lambda T3.
  • You want official warranty and service: an IQOS ILUMA or ILUMA i for TEREA.

What every Lambda has in common

Lambda is a third-party brand, not Philip Morris. None of its devices carry IQOS warranty or IQOS service, so ask your seller what cover they provide. Lambda is not a fake IQOS either; it is its own brand making compatible devices. Our Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA comparison goes through that trade-off in detail.

The three induction models also have no regional restriction on sticks. Every TEREA edition we sell, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Japan, UAE and Armenia, works in the i8, i9 and i10. The differences between those editions are in our TEREA edition comparison.

Buying Lambda in Abu Dhabi

We stock all five Lambda models in the colours listed above, with delivery within the hour in Abu Dhabi, same-day delivery across the rest of the UAE, and cash on delivery. Browse the full Lambda device range to see every colour and the current price.

FAQ

Can I use TEREA in a Lambda T3 or CC?

No. Both are blade devices, and TEREA needs an induction device to heat the metal element inside the stick. A TEREA stick in a T3 or CC will not heat. For TEREA, choose the i8, i9 or i10.

Can I use HEETS in a Lambda i9 or i10?

No. HEETS have no metal element, so an induction device has nothing to heat. The same applies to every IQOS ILUMA, as explained in can you use HEETS in ILUMA.

Which Lambda has the best battery?

The i8, i9, i10 and CC all have a 3200 mAh battery. The T3 has 1500 mAh, enough for 18 to 20 sticks, but it recharges faster, in about 70 to 75 minutes.

Does the Lambda i10 clean itself?

The i10 has no automatic cleaning cycle; the i9 does. In practice this matters little on an induction device, because the tobacco stays sealed inside the stick and the chamber stays clean.

Is the Lambda i10 better than the i9?

Not better, different. They share the same battery and the same heating controls. The i10 is newer, lighter and leather-finished. The i9 has the OLED screen and the self-cleaning cycle.

Do Lambda devices come with an IQOS warranty?

No. Lambda is a separate manufacturer, so Philip Morris does not repair or replace Lambda devices. Cover comes from the manufacturer and the seller only.
