IQOS ILUMA ONE Kit Azure Blue

Azure Blue is the most popular ILUMA One colour we sell, and it’s the easiest one to recommend if you’re buying your first TEREA device. A soft, cool blue with a matte finish, it reads as clean rather than loud, which suits a device you’ll have in your hand several times a day.

The colour is the only thing that separates it from the other four. Every ILUMA One kit has identical specifications and identical performance, so this choice is purely about what you want to look at.

What’s in the kit

The ILUMA One kit is deliberately short on parts, because the device is one piece rather than two.

You get the ILUMA One device itself in Azure Blue, a USB-C charging cable, a cleaning tool for the outer cap, and the user documentation with warranty details. There’s no separate holder, no pocket charger and no cleaning sticks, because none of those exist for this device.

A power adapter is not included, which catches some people out. Any USB-C phone charger works, and using one you already own is fine.

TEREA sticks are sold separately. The device is useless without them, so most people order a pack or two alongside it.

How Azure Blue looks in use

Colour choice sounds trivial until you’ve carried a device for a month.

Azure Blue sits in the middle of the range on visibility. It’s more distinctive than Pebble Grey or Pebble Beige, which are the neutral options, but nowhere near as bold as Sunset Red. Moss Green is the other muted option if blue isn’t your colour.

The matte finish holds fingerprints less than a gloss surface would, though light shades in general show marks more readily than dark ones over time. Pebble Grey is the most forgiving on that front if it’s a concern.

Getting started

Charge it fully before the first use, which takes about 90 minutes over USB-C. If the battery arrived deeply depleted, it can take up to 20 minutes before the first LED appears. That’s normal and not a fault.

Then: slide the cap open, insert a TEREA stick up to the filter line without twisting, and press and hold the button until the device vibrates. A second vibration about 20 seconds later means it’s ready. Draw normally for up to 14 puffs or roughly six minutes, then slide the used stick out and close the cap.

Tap the button briefly at any point to see the battery level. A yellow flash at the base of the status bar means it’s time to charge.

Our first-time ILUMA setup guide walks through the whole process, and there’s one thing worth knowing upfront: ILUMA One does not have auto-start. Inserting a stick won’t begin heating on its own. That feature belongs to ILUMA Standard, Prime and the ILUMA i series, and the button press is the trade-off for the simpler, cheaper design.

No cleaning, ever

Older IQOS devices used a ceramic blade that pushed into the tobacco stick, and it needed cleaning regularly as residue built up.

There’s no blade here. The Smartcore Induction System heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick through a magnetic field, so nothing inside the device ever touches tobacco. Used sticks come out whole, no residue collects, and the only thing that ever needs attention is the outer cap, which is what the small cleaning tool in the box is for.

This is also why the device takes TEREA and nothing else. HEETS sticks have no metal element inside, so induction has nothing to work with. The mechanism is explained in how TEREA sticks work, and the full compatibility picture is in our device compatibility guide.

Which sticks to order with it

The device only works with TEREA, and we stock all 75 flavors across five editions.

If this is your first heated tobacco device, three flavors cover most people. Amber if you smoke full-flavor cigarettes, Yellow if you smoke lights, Turquoise if you smoke menthol.

Edition matters for price more than most people expect. The Kazakhstan range is where most of our customers buy, partly on price and partly for the five Pearl capsule flavors nobody else carries. Armenia is cheaper still with a shorter lineup, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. Looking after it here

Heat shortens lithium battery life faster than anything else, and a dashboard in an Abu Dhabi summer is the worst place to leave any device. Keep it out of direct sun and out of parked cars.

Two other habits help: don’t use it while it’s charging, and stick to a decent USB-C cable. Beyond that there’s nothing to maintain.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Azure Blue perform differently from the other colours?

No. All five ILUMA One colours are the same device with the same battery, the same heating system and the same 20 uses per charge. Colour is the only difference.

Are TEREA sticks included in the kit?

No, sticks are sold separately. The kit contains the device, a USB-C cable, a cap cleaning tool and documentation.

Is a power adapter included?

No, only the USB-C cable. Any standard phone adapter works.

How many sticks per charge?

Up to 20, which is a full pack. Moderate users charge roughly once a day.

Does it start heating automatically?

No. Press and hold the button until it vibrates. Auto-start is a feature of ILUMA Standard, Prime and the ILUMA i range, not ILUMA One.

Can I use HEETS in it?

No. HEETS have no metal heating element, so an induction device has nothing to heat. TEREA only.

Does it need cleaning?

Only the outer cap occasionally, using the tool in the box. There’s no blade and no internal residue, so there’s no cleaning routine.
