Moss Green is the quiet one. A muted, earthy green with a matte finish, it’s the ILUMA One colour that looks least like a gadget and most like something you’d carry without thinking about it. If the blues and reds feel too obvious and the beiges feel too plain, this is the middle answer.

Where Moss Green sits among the five

Colour matters more on a device you handle several times a day than it does on most purchases.

Moss Green is the most understated of the range without being a neutral. Pebble Beige and Pebble Grey are the true neutrals, warm and cool respectively. Azure Blue is the most popular and sits in the middle on visibility. Sunset Red is the only genuinely bold option.

Moss Green has one practical advantage over the lighter shades: being darker, it hides marks and wear better than beige or grey do over months of pocket use. The matte finish also holds fingerprints less than gloss would.

What comes in the box

Short list, because ILUMA One is one piece rather than two.

The device in Moss Green, a USB-C charging cable, a cleaning tool for the outer cap, and the documentation with warranty details. No separate holder, no pocket charger, no cleaning sticks, since none of those apply to this device.

No power adapter is included. Any USB-C phone charger you already own will do the job.

TEREA sticks are sold separately and the device won’t work without them, so it’s worth ordering a pack or two at the same time.

Specifications

A full charge covers a full pack of twenty sticks, which for most people means plugging it in once a day at most.

Using it day to day

Charge it completely before the first session, which takes around 90 minutes over USB-C. A deeply depleted battery can take up to 20 minutes before the first LED appears; that’s expected rather than a fault.

In use: slide the cap open, insert a TEREA stick up to the filter line without twisting, then press and hold the button until the device vibrates. About 20 seconds later a second vibration means it’s ready. Draw normally for up to 14 puffs or roughly six minutes, slide the spent stick out, and close the cap.

Tap the button briefly at any time to check the battery. A yellow flash at the base of the status bar means it needs charging.

One thing to know before you buy, because it surprises people: ILUMA One has no auto-start. Inserting a stick doesn’t begin heating on its own, and the button press is the trade-off for the simpler and cheaper one-piece design. Nothing to clean

The device has no blade. Older IQOS models used a ceramic blade that slid into the stick and collected tobacco residue, which meant regular cleaning with sticks and cotton buds.

Instead, the Smartcore Induction System heats a metal element sealed inside every TEREA stick using a magnetic field, so nothing inside the device touches tobacco at any point. Used sticks come out whole, residue never builds up, and the only part that occasionally needs attention is the outer cap, which is what the small tool in the box is for.

Sticks to order alongside it

For a first device, three flavors cover most people: Amber coming from full-flavor cigarettes, Yellow from lights, Turquoise from menthols.

Which edition you choose changes the price considerably. Armenia is the cheapest with a short six-flavor lineup of proven sellers, Kazakhstan costs slightly more and adds the five Pearl capsule flavors, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. Care in the UAE climate

Heat is what kills lithium batteries, and a parked car in an Abu Dhabi summer is the worst place to leave any device. Keep it out of direct sunlight and off dashboards.

Two habits beyond that: avoid using it while it’s charging, and use a decent USB-C cable rather than the cheapest available. There’s no other maintenance, since there’s nothing inside to clean.
