IQOS ILUMA ONE Kit Sunset Red

Sunset Red is the only bold colour in the ILUMA One range. Where the other four sit in cool blues, muted greens and neutral stones, this one is a warm coral red with a matte finish, and it’s the device people notice on a table.

That’s the entire difference. Every ILUMA One kit shares the same battery, the same heating system and the same 20 sticks per charge, so this page is about whether the colour suits you rather than whether the device performs differently.

Who picks the red one

Two kinds of buyer, in our experience.

The first wants their device to be identifiable. If you share a space with other IQOS users, or you’ve ever picked up someone else’s device by mistake in a group, a red one solves that permanently. The neutral shades all look alike at arm’s length.

The second simply doesn’t want a device that looks like an accessory. Sunset Red reads as a deliberate object rather than something designed to disappear, and there’s a reason it’s the colour that stays visible in every photo of the range.

If neither of those is you, the quieter options are Pebble Grey and Pebble Beige as the neutrals, Moss Green as the muted earthy option, and Azure Blue as the middle ground and our best seller. All five sit together on the ILUMA One collection page.

One practical note on lighter and brighter finishes: they show scuffs more clearly than dark ones over a year of pocket use. Pebble Grey is the most forgiving in the range if that matters to you more than looks.

What’s in the kit

Short list, because ILUMA One is a single unit rather than a two-piece system.

Inside the box: the ILUMA One device in Sunset Red, a USB-C charging cable, a small cleaning tool for the outer cap, and the documentation and warranty card. There’s no holder and no pocket charger, since the device is both.

A power adapter isn’t included. Any USB-C phone charger you already own will do the job.

TEREA sticks are sold separately, and the device does nothing without them, so most people add a pack or two to the order.

Twenty sticks is one full pack, which for most people means charging once a day at most.

First use and daily use

Charge it fully before the first session. From flat that takes around 90 minutes over USB-C, and if the battery is deeply depleted it can be up to 20 minutes before the first LED lights up. That’s expected behaviour, not a fault.

To run a session: slide the cap open, insert a TEREA stick up to the filter line without twisting, then press and hold the button until the device vibrates. About 20 seconds later a second vibration tells you it’s ready. Draw normally for up to 14 puffs or roughly six minutes, then slide the stick out and close the cap.

A brief tap on the button shows the battery level at any time, and a yellow flash at the base of the status bar means charge it soon.

Worth knowing before you buy: ILUMA One has no auto-start. Inserting a stick won’t begin heating by itself, and the button press is the trade-off for the simpler and cheaper design. Why there’s nothing to clean

Older IQOS devices heated the stick with a ceramic blade that pushed into the tobacco, and that blade collected residue and needed regular cleaning.

ILUMA One has no blade at all. The Smartcore Induction System heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick using a magnetic field, so nothing inside the device touches tobacco at any point. Sticks come out whole, no residue builds up, and the only part that ever needs attention is the outer cap, which is what the small tool in the box handles.

Sticks to order alongside it

We stock all 75 TEREA flavors across five editions, and three of them cover most first-time buyers: Amber if you smoke full-flavor cigarettes, Yellow if you smoke lights, Turquoise if you smoke menthol.

Which edition you choose affects the price more than the taste. Most of our customers buy the Kazakhstan range, partly on cost and partly for its five Pearl capsule flavors. Armenia is cheaper again with a shorter six-flavor lineup, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. Care in the UAE

Heat degrades lithium batteries faster than use does, so keep the device out of parked cars and off dashboards through the summer. Direct sun is the one thing that will noticeably shorten its life.

Two smaller habits: avoid using it while it’s charging, and use a decent USB-C cable rather than the cheapest one available. There’s no other maintenance, because there’s nothing inside to clean.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sunset Red different from the other colours in any way?

Only visually. All five ILUMA One kits share the same battery, heating system, weight and 20 uses per charge.

Does the red finish scratch or mark easily?

It’s the same matte finish as the rest of the range. Lighter and brighter shades tend to show scuffs more than dark ones over long-term pocket use, and Pebble Grey is the most forgiving of the five on that count.

Are TEREA sticks included?

No. The kit contains the device, a USB-C cable, a cap cleaning tool and documentation. Sticks are ordered separately.

Is a charging plug in the box?

No, just the cable. Any standard USB-C phone adapter works fine.

How many sticks per charge?

Up to 20, a full pack. Most people charge it once a day or less.

Does it heat automatically when I insert a stick?

No. Press and hold the button until it vibrates. Auto-start is on ILUMA Standard, Prime and the ILUMA i models.

Can it use HEETS?
