White – ELIO Electronic Cleaning Tool for IQOS

White is the cleanest-looking of the three Elio finishes, and the one with an honest trade-off attached: it’s a cleaning tool, and cleaning tools get dirty.

That’s not a reason to avoid it. It’s a reason to wipe it after each use, which you should be doing anyway. On a white body you’ll notice when it needs it, where on the black version residue builds unseen until the bristles stop working properly.

Some people find that useful. Others find it irritating. It’s worth knowing which you are before you order.

Looking after the tool itself

The part most owners neglect, and the reason cleaning tools stop being effective long before they wear out.

Tap it out after every use on a stable surface, then wipe the head with a cloth.

Use a cleaning stick on the bristles if residue is caught in them. It’s the same product you use on the device, and it works the same way here.

Never wash it. Same rule as the device: water and electronics don’t mix, and a damp tool carries moisture into your holder the next time you use it.

Check the head before each use. Philip Morris advises inspecting a cleaning head for bending, warping and dirt before it goes near the chamber, and that guidance applies whatever brand of tool you’re using. A damaged head can scratch the inside of the device.

Replace it when it stops coming clean. A brush loaded with old residue redistributes it rather than removing it.

What the Elio does

It motorises the brushing step of the routine. Instead of inserting the manual IQOS cleaning tool and twisting it two or three times by hand, you insert the head and let it rotate.

The advantage is consistency. Hand-twisting tends to be too fast, uneven, or accompanied by downward pressure, which the official instructions specifically warn against. A motor does the same thing the same way every time.

It doesn’t replace cleaning sticks, which lift the fine residue a brush leaves behind and are the only way to properly clean the inside of the cap.

The rules

Cool the device at least 30 seconds after your last stick, and don’t press the device button while cleaning.

Insert straight, withdraw straight, without pushing down.

Never clean the blade itself. Only the bottom of the heating chamber.

Never use water on the device or the tool.

How do I clean the tool?

When should I replace the head?
