Bronze Taupe is the warm metallic finish in the ILUMA Prime range, and the one that looks least like a gadget. The aluminium holder carries a soft bronze tone, and the pocket charger comes wrapped in a leather-effect cover in the same warm neutral. On a table next to a phone and a wallet, it reads as an accessory rather than a device.
Performance is identical across every Prime colour. Same induction heating, same battery, same two sticks back to back. This page is about whether the finish suits you and what you get in the box.
Prime is a two-piece system, so the box has more in it than an all-in-one device would.
You get the ILUMA Prime holder in Bronze Taupe, the matching pocket charger with its leather-effect wrap already fitted, a USB-C charging cable, a power adapter, and the documentation with warranty details.
TEREA sticks are sold separately. The device does nothing without them, so most people add a pack or two to the same order.
There’s no cleaning kit, and that isn’t an omission. Prime has no blade and never needs cleaning inside.

Two sticks back to back covers most situations, and the charger holds enough for around 20 in total. One overnight charge gets most people through a full day.
Colour is the whole decision here, so it’s worth being specific about what this one is.
Bronze Taupe is warm where Obsidian Black is neutral and where Jade Green is cool. It has more presence than Gold Khaki, which is the most understated finish in the range, but it stays well short of the Neon Limited Edition, which is the one designed to be noticed.
The metallic tone shifts with the light in a way flat colours don’t, closer to brushed metal than to paint. It’s the finish people pick when they want the device to look considered rather than technical.
On practicality: lighter metallics show fingerprints and small scuffs more readily than dark finishes do, and Obsidian Black is the most forgiving in the range if a year of pocket wear concerns you more than the look. All five finishes sit together on the ILUMA Prime collection page.
This is the one thing Prime does that no other ILUMA device manages, and most buyers don’t know it.
The wrap on the pocket charger is removable. It attaches with linear magnets that slide into recesses on the charger body, and it pulls off from the top down when you want to swap it. Buying Bronze Taupe today doesn’t commit you to Bronze Taupe permanently.
Two things to know: wraps aren’t covered by the device warranty, and they clean with nothing more than a damp cloth.
Charge the pocket charger fully before the first session, which takes around 135 minutes over USB-C. Turn the device on by holding the charger button for four seconds.
Take the holder out, insert a TEREA stick to the line on the filter, and wait for the holder to vibrate with the lights pulsing. Heating starts by itself, or you can press the button for a second. Once the lights hold steady, draw normally for up to 14 puffs or about six minutes. A vibration warns you at the last 30 seconds. Then remove the stick and slide the holder back into the charger.
Two behaviours worth knowing. Autostop ends the session if the stick is moved or removed mid-use, which saves you from wasting half of one. And a short press on the charger button shows its battery level at any time, with a yellow blink meaning it needs charging.
If the device blinks white twice, it’s outside its operating range of 0 to 40°C. In Abu Dhabi that almost always means it’s been left in a hot car, and it needs to cool before it will run. Our first-time ILUMA setup guide covers the rest.
Older IQOS devices used a ceramic blade that pushed into the tobacco stick, collected residue and needed cleaning regularly with sticks and cotton buds.
Prime has no blade. Smartcore induction heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick through a magnetic field, so nothing inside the holder ever touches tobacco. Used sticks come out whole and no residue builds up. How TEREA sticks work explains the system properly.
The same design is why Prime takes TEREA and nothing else. HEETS contain no metal element for induction to heat, and TEREA won’t heat in an IQOS 3 Duo either. Both directions are covered in HEETS in ILUMA and TEREA in IQOS 3 Duo, and every model is listed in the device compatibility guide.
If you’re still deciding which ILUMA device to buy, the short version is that all of them heat identically.
ILUMA One is the all-in-one entry model, lightest and cheapest, without a pocket charger or auto-start. ILUMA Standard is the two-piece system in plastic and matches Prime on performance for less money. Prime adds the aluminium, the wrap and the sliding door. The newer ILUMA i series brings a touchscreen, Pause Mode, FlexPuff and three consecutive uses, with ILUMA i Prime as this device’s direct successor.
Useful detail if you own both generations: an ILUMA i Prime holder charges in an ILUMA Prime pocket charger and the other way round.
Our ILUMA vs ILUMA i comparison covers whether the newer range is worth it, and Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA assesses the budget alternatives honestly.
We stock all 75 TEREA flavors across five editions. For a first device, Amber suits full-flavor cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers and Turquoise suits menthol smokers.
The edition you choose changes the price more than the taste. Most of our customers buy the Kazakhstan range, on cost and for its five Pearl capsule flavors. Armenia is cheaper with a shorter lineup, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. The reason behind the gap is in why imported TEREA costs less, and the whole catalogue is in our full TEREA sticks range.
The operating range is 0 to 40°C, which a parked car here exceeds easily in summer. Beyond that specific limit, heat shortens lithium battery life in general, so keep the device out of direct sun.
Use the supplied cable and adapter, avoid using it while it’s charging, and wipe the wrap with a damp cloth when it needs it. Nothing else requires maintenance.

No. Every Prime shares the same heating system, battery, consecutive uses and charge capacity. The finish is the only difference.
Yes. It’s held on by linear magnets and pulls off from the top down, so you can swap the colour whenever you like. Wraps aren’t covered by the device warranty.
Lighter metallics show fingerprints and scuffs more than dark finishes over time. Obsidian Black is the most forgiving in the range if that’s a concern.
Two back to back from the holder, then a few minutes in the charger. The charger carries around 20 sticks in total.
No, they’re ordered separately. The kit contains the holder, pocket charger, cable, adapter and documentation.
Not in performance. They heat identically and hold the same charge. Prime is aluminium with a replaceable wrap and a sliding door; Standard is plastic and costs less.
No. HEETS have no metal heating element inside, so an induction device has nothing to heat. TEREA sticks only.
The device is outside its 0 to 40°C operating range. Let it cool down before using it.
