Every Prime performs identically, so what follows is about the finish, the kit, and how the device behaves day to day.

What comes in the box

Prime is a two-piece system, which means more in the box than an all-in-one device gives you.

Inside: the ILUMA Prime holder in Jade Green, the matching pocket charger with its leather-effect wrap fitted, a USB-C charging cable, a power adapter, and the documentation with warranty details.

TEREA sticks are sold separately, and the device is useless without them, so most orders include a pack or two alongside.

No cleaning kit is included, and none is needed. Prime has no blade and nothing accumulates inside it.

What Jade Green looks like in the hand

Green is unusual in this category, which is most of the appeal.

The tone is deep rather than bright, closer to a dark jewel green than to anything sporty, and the aluminium gives it a subtle shift under different light. Against the rest of the range it sits at the expressive end of the standard finishes without crossing into statement territory, which is where the Neon Limited Edition lives.

If you want warmth instead, Bronze Taupe is the metallic option. Gold Khaki is the most understated of the four, and Obsidian Black is the conventional premium choice that also hides marks best over a year of pocket use.

The colour isn’t permanent

Most Prime buyers don’t realise this at the point of purchase, and it’s worth knowing before you agonise over the choice.

The wrap on the pocket charger comes off. Linear magnets hold it into recesses on the charger body, and it lifts away from the top down when you want something different. No other ILUMA device offers this, and it means Jade Green is a starting point rather than a commitment.

Two caveats: wraps sit outside the device warranty, and cleaning one needs nothing more than a damp cloth.

Running a session

Charge the pocket charger fully before first use. That takes about 135 minutes over USB-C, and you turn the device on by holding the charger button for four seconds.

Then it’s straightforward. Take the holder out, insert a TEREA stick to the line on the filter, and wait for the vibration with pulsing lights. Heating begins on its own, or press the button for a second if you prefer. When the lights hold steady, draw normally for up to 14 puffs or roughly six minutes. You’ll feel a vibration at the last 30 seconds. Remove the stick and slide the holder back into the charger.

Autostop is worth knowing about: move or remove the stick mid-session and the device stops, which saves half a stick when you get interrupted. A short press on the charger button shows the battery level, and a yellow blink means charge it.

Two white blinks mean something different. The device is outside its 0 to 40°C operating range, which in Abu Dhabi nearly always means a hot car, and it needs to cool before it will work. Our first-time ILUMA setup guide covers everything else.

Nothing inside to clean

Older IQOS devices heated the stick with a ceramic blade that pushed into the tobacco. Residue collected on it, and cleaning was a regular job.

Prime works differently. Smartcore induction heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick using a magnetic field, so nothing in the holder touches tobacco at any point. Sticks come out whole and no residue accumulates, which is why there’s no cleaning routine and no cleaning kit. How TEREA sticks work explains the mechanism.

If you’re still choosing a device

All ILUMA devices heat identically, so the decision is form and budget.

ILUMA One is the all-in-one entry model: lightest, cheapest, no pocket charger and no auto-start. ILUMA Standard is the two-piece system in plastic, matching Prime on performance for less. Prime adds aluminium, the replaceable wrap and the sliding door. Holders and chargers cross over between the two Prime generations, so an ILUMA i Prime holder charges in an ILUMA Prime pocket charger and vice versa.

Sticks to order alongside

We stock all 75 TEREA flavors across five editions. For a first device, Amber suits full-flavor cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers, and Turquoise suits menthol smokers.

Edition affects price more than taste. Most customers buy the Kazakhstan range for the cost and for its five Pearl capsule flavors. Armenia is cheaper with a shorter lineup, and the official UAE edition arrives in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. Care in the UAE

The 0 to 40°C operating range matters here more than in most markets, because a parked car exceeds it easily in summer. Heat also shortens lithium battery life generally, so direct sun is the thing to avoid.

Use the supplied cable and adapter, don’t use the device while it charges, and wipe the wrap with a damp cloth occasionally. That’s the full maintenance list.

Does Jade Green perform differently from the other Prime colours?

No. Identical heating, battery, consecutive uses and charge capacity across every finish. Colour is the only variable.

Does the green finish show fingerprints?

Less than the lighter metallics in the range. Darker finishes hide marks better, and Obsidian Black is the most forgiving of all five.

Can I change the wrap later?

Yes. Linear magnets hold it on and it lifts off from the top down, so the colour can change whenever you want. Wraps aren’t covered by the device warranty.

How many sticks before it needs charging?

Two back to back from the holder, then a few minutes in the charger. The charger holds enough for around 20 sticks in total.
