LAMBDA i9 Gold Device

Gold is the warm metallic in the Lambda i9 range and the boldest of the three metal finishes. It’s the option for people who want a device that looks like a considered object rather than a piece of equipment, and it’s noticeably more eye-catching than the silver or grey.

That’s the whole difference. Every Lambda i9 shares the same battery, temperature range and features, so this page covers what the device does and where gold sits among the six.

Specifications

Why people choose Lambda over official hardware

It comes down to battery and control.

The 3200 mAh cell gives up to 40 sessions between charges, where an IQOS ILUMA i holder and charger manage around twenty. If running out mid-day irritates you, that gap is the reason to be here.

Then there’s heat. Official devices run a single fixed profile whatever stick you put in. This one moves between 200 and 300°C, and the flavour follows: cooler for a cleaner draw that keeps delicate aromas like Silver intact, hotter for the density that makes Amber and Sienna worth buying.

The trade-off is warranty. This isn’t Philip Morris hardware, so there’s no PMI cover and no app integration; whatever protection you get comes from the seller. Our Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA comparison is honest about both sides.

What the i9 adds over the i8

Two things, and neither touches performance. An OLED display showing temperature, battery and session time where the i8 uses indicator lights, and an automatic self-cleaning cycle. Battery, heat range and stick compatibility are identical, so the i8 remains the value option and our Lambda i8 review explains why. The newer i10 swaps the metal body for leather-effect.

Separate category entirely: Lambda T3 and Lambda CC are blade devices for HEETS. See the Lambda devices page.

Getting started

Give it a full charge over USB-C before you use it. Then slide a TEREA stick into the chamber as far as the filter line, without twisting it, and start the heating cycle. Wait for the ready signal before your first draw.

On temperature, the middle of the range is the sensible starting point. From there, go up if a flavour tastes thin and down if it tastes harsh or you want more aroma coming through.

What’s happening inside is identical to an ILUMA, and how TEREA sticks work explains it. Puff counts and nicotine content are in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.

Sticks it works with

Any TEREA edition we stock, plus SENTIA and other Smartcore sticks. Compatibility depends on the metal element inside the stick rather than the flavour or the market it was made for, so the Pearl capsule range works exactly like everything else.

HEETS won’t heat in it at all. There’s no metal element in a HEETS stick, so induction has nothing to act on. For HEETS you need the blade-based Lambda T3 or CC, or the IQOS Originals range. HEETS in ILUMA and TEREA in IQOS 3 Duo explains why the two systems don’t mix, and the device compatibility guide lists every model.

What to smoke in it

All 75 TEREA flavours across five editions are in stock, and a device with temperature control gets more out of them than a fixed-profile one does.

Starting points: Amber if you smoked full-flavour cigarettes, Yellow if you smoked lights, Turquoise if you smoked menthol.

Where you buy from matters more for price than for flavour. Kazakhstan is our best seller on cost and its five Pearl capsules, Armenia is cheaper still with fewer flavours, Japan and Indonesia hold the exclusives, and the UAE edition is the official local release. Looking after it here

The thing that kills these batteries is heat, not use. A 3200 mAh cell left on a dashboard through an Abu Dhabi summer will lose capacity far faster than one kept in a bag or a drawer.

Stick to the supplied USB-C cable, don’t run sessions while it’s plugged in, and that’s the whole routine. Nothing inside touches tobacco, so there’s no residue and no cleaning.

Delivery and payment

We hold stock in Abu Dhabi and deliver across the city within the hour, from Khalifa City and Al Reem Island through Yas Island, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain get same-day service. Pay cash on delivery if you prefer, and orders above 200 AED ship free.

The six finishes

Gold is the warmest and most visible of the metallics. Silver is the brighter, cooler metal, and Grey is the most subdued of the three. Black is the neutral that hides marks best and makes the OLED display look sharpest. Green is the muted colour option, and Red is the bold non-metallic. All six sit on the Lambda i9 collection page.

One practical note: metallic finishes show fingerprints sooner than black does, so if a spotless device matters to you, black is the safer choice.

Frequently asked questions

Does gold perform differently from the other finishes?

No. Every Lambda i9 shares the same battery, heating, temperature range and features.

Does the gold finish mark easily?

Metallic finishes show fingerprints more readily than matte black does. It wipes clean easily enough, but black stays looking new for longer.

Does it work with all TEREA sticks?

Yes. Compatibility comes from the induction mechanism rather than the flavor or market, so every TEREA edition works, including the Pearl capsule flavors.

How many sessions per charge?

Up to 40 from the 3200 mAh battery, roughly double what an IQOS ILUMA i delivers between charges.

Is it an official IQOS product?

No. Lambda is a third-party manufacturer, so there’s no Philip Morris warranty. Any cover comes from the retailer.

Can it heat HEETS?

No. HEETS have no metal element inside, so induction can’t heat them. The blade-based Lambda T3 and CC handle HEETS instead.

Lambda i8 or i9?

The i8 has the same battery, temperature range and compatibility for less. The i9 adds the OLED display and self-cleaning cycle.
