Silver is the brightest metallic in the Lambda i9 range, and the finish that most obviously reads as metal. Against the OLED display it gives the device a technical, precise look, which fits what the i9 actually is: the most adjustable device we sell.

Specifications

Where it beats official IQOS hardware

On paper and in practice, in two places.

The battery holds 3200 mAh for up to 40 sessions per charge. An IQOS ILUMA i holder plus charger gives around twenty.

The heating is adjustable rather than fixed: 200 to 300°C, sessions from 3 to 6 minutes. Lower heat keeps the aroma in something delicate like Yellow; higher heat gives Sienna the body it should have. No official device offers either.

Worth knowing before you commit: Lambda sits outside the PMI ecosystem, so there’s no manufacturer warranty and no app. Retailer cover is the only cover. See Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA for the full picture.

How the i9 compares within Lambda

Battery, temperature range and stick compatibility are shared across the induction line, so the differences are cosmetic and convenience-led. The i8 is the cheapest, reviewed in full in our Lambda i8 review. The i9 gains an OLED display and self-cleaning. The i10 gains a leather-effect body.

Day-to-day use

A full USB-C charge first. Then a TEREA stick into the chamber, up to the filter line and without twisting, heating started from the controls, and a draw once it signals ready.

Temperature and session time are adjustable. Start in the middle, raise it when a flavour feels thin, lower it when it feels harsh or the aroma is getting lost.

What fits, and what doesn’t

Fits: TEREA in all five editions, SENTIA, and any Smartcore stick with an internal metal element. The Pearl capsule flavours included, since compatibility is about the element rather than the flavour or origin market.

Doesn’t fit: HEETS. No metal element, nothing for induction to heat. Those need the blade-based Lambda T3 or CC, or the IQOS Originals range. Stocking up on sticks

What changes with edition is mostly the price. Kazakhstan leads our sales on cost and Pearl capsules, Armenia is the budget option, Japan and Indonesia have flavours found nowhere else, and the UAE edition is the official local one. Practical care

Heat is the enemy of a 3200 mAh lithium cell, far more than usage is, so keep the device away from parked cars and direct sun through summer.

Beyond that, use the cable supplied and don’t run a session while it’s on charge. No cleaning routine exists, because induction leaves the chamber clean.

The six finishes

Silver is the bright metallic. Grey is the same family but subdued, and Gold is the warm one. Black is the neutral that hides marks best of all six. Green is the muted colour option and Red is the bold one. All six are on the Lambda i9 collection page.

One practical note: bright metallics show fingerprints sooner than matte black. Grey is the compromise if you want the metal look with less upkeep.

Silver or grey?

Same metallic character, different brightness. Silver is bright and reflective; grey is muted and shows fingerprints less.

Does it perform differently from the other finishes?

No. Every Lambda i9 shares the same battery, heating, temperature range and features.

Does it work with all TEREA sticks?

Yes. Compatibility comes from the induction mechanism rather than the flavor or market, so every TEREA edition works, including the Pearl capsule flavors.

How many sessions per charge?

Up to 40 from the 3200 mAh battery, roughly double what an IQOS ILUMA i delivers between charges.

Is it an official IQOS product?

No. Lambda is a third-party manufacturer, so there’s no Philip Morris warranty. Any cover comes from the retailer.

Can it heat HEETS?

No. HEETS have no metal element inside, so induction can’t heat them. The blade-based Lambda T3 and CC handle HEETS instead.

Lambda i8 or i9?

The i8 has the same battery, temperature range and compatibility for less. The i9 adds the OLED display and self-cleaning cycle.
