Green Zing is the citrus stick of the Kazakhstan range, and the one flavor here built on green tea rather than plain tobacco. Bright lime and lemon zest sit on a soft herbal green tea layer with menthol tying the two together, which gives it a character no other stick in the edition has. It’s the flavor people reach for in summer and the one that tends to convert users who find standard menthols flat.

It’s also exclusive to the Kazakhstan range in our store. None of the UAE, Japan, Indonesia or Armenia editions carry it.

About the flavor

The hierarchy runs citrus first, green tea second, menthol third, and tobacco a distant fourth. That ordering is unusual: in almost every other cooling stick, menthol leads and everything else decorates it. Green Zing works the other way around, with the cooling acting as the thing that holds the citrus and tea together rather than the headline act.

The citrus reads as fresh lime or lemon peel rather than juice, so it’s zesty and slightly sour instead of sweet. Behind it sits the green tea note, soft and herbal, and it does real work: it grounds the lime so it never tastes artificial or like a cleaning product, which is the failure mode of most citrus flavors.

The aroma is bright and clean and fades quickly from a room, which puts it at the discreet end of the menthol family. Our guide to whether TEREA sticks smell covers how the different flavor families compare.

Through a session the citrus is sharpest in the opening draws and the cooling builds behind it. The middle stretch is where the green tea becomes properly noticeable, sitting between the zest and the cold. The last third settles into the menthol with the citrus receding to a clean, slightly tart finish, and it doesn’t turn bitter or dry the way weaker citrus flavors do. Fourteen puffs, and reviewers consistently note there’s no drop-off in intensity toward the end.

Is the menthol strong or light? Honestly, it depends who you ask

This is the one thing worth reading before you order a carton, because sellers describe Green Zing in flatly contradictory ways. Some call the cooling a bold, sharp kick. Others call it a light breeze that never numbs the throat. Actual user reviews split the same way: one describes it as perfectly balanced, another as far too minty for what they expected.

Both camps are describing the same stick. What’s happening is a question of reference point. If you’re coming from a dedicated cooling flavor like Black Menthol or Turquoise, Green Zing will feel moderate, because the menthol is genuinely secondary to the citrus. If you’re coming from plain tobacco like Amber or Sienna, the same stick reads as a strong menthol, because it’s the first cooling you’ve had.

Practically: Green Zing is a citrus flavor with cooling, not a menthol flavor with citrus added. Order one pack before a carton if you’re unsure which side you’ll land on. That’s the honest advice, and it’s the reason returns on this flavor are usually about expectation rather than quality.

Where it fits among the Kazakhstan menthols

The edition carries several cooling flavors and they aren’t interchangeable.

Turquoise is the reference menthol: clean, strong, tobacco underneath. Silver is the gentle one, light menthol with herbal, tea-like notes, and it’s the closest relative to Green Zing in the range though softer and without the citrus punch. Blue is mint-forward and simpler.

On the fruit side, Summer Wave is tropical and sweet where Green Zing is sharp and sour, and Ruby Fuse goes red berry instead of citrus. If sweetness is what you actually want, those two are the better fit.

Across editions, the nearest thing is Japan’s Yellow Menthol, which shares the lemon-and-menthol idea but drops the green tea layer and costs more. Everything in this range sits together on our TEREA Kazakhstan flavors page, and every green and menthol flavor we stock is grouped on the Green flavor page.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, with cartons cheaper per stick. Kazakhstan stock arrives factory-sealed, printed in Kazakh and Russian with Kazakhstan health warnings, and the flavor name in Latin script so Green Zing is readable on the pack without reading Cyrillic. Unfamiliar language is normal on an imported edition; a broken seal or misspelled name is not, and our guide to spotting fake TEREA covers the checks worth doing.

Kazakhstan sits in the budget tier, so this flavor costs less here than the equivalent citrus menthols in the Japan range. The reason is tobacco excise in the source market rather than anything about the product, as we’ve explained in why imported TEREA costs less.

Getting the best from it

Insert the stick printed-end up without twisting. Current ILUMA devices heat automatically; older models need the button held until the first vibration, and a second vibration signals ready. Up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes at 0.5mg nicotine, and the used stick comes out whole for general waste. The mechanism is covered in how TEREA sticks work.

Two things specific to this one. Citrus is the first note lost to heat, so keep packs somewhere cool rather than in a parked car in Abu Dhabi summer, where the lime will flatten well before the menthol does. And because the tobacco base is deliberately light, Green Zing gets overwhelmed if you run it straight after something heavy: put it first in a rotation, not after an Amber or a clove Edition.

Devices

Heats in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the full ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. No blade device, including the IQOS 3 Duo, can heat TEREA sticks, and every model is listed in our device compatibility guide.

Frequently asked questions

What does Green Zing actually taste like?

Lime and lemon zest over a soft green tea note, with menthol cooling holding it together. The citrus is sour rather than sweet, and the green tea is what stops it tasting artificial.

Is it a menthol flavor or a citrus flavor?

Citrus first, with cooling second. That distinction matters: people expecting a pure menthol often find it lighter than they wanted, while people expecting a fruit flavor find it cooler.

How is it different from Silver?

Silver is a light menthol with herbal, tea-like notes and no real citrus. Green Zing takes that herbal direction and adds a sharp lime zest on top, so it’s brighter and more sour.

Can I get Green Zing in another edition?

Not from us. It’s exclusive to the Kazakhstan range in our store, which is one of the reasons this edition sells the way it does.

Is it good for all-day use?

Yes for most people, since the tobacco base is light and the profile doesn’t tire the palate. If you find sour flavors wearing over a full day, keep a tobacco stick like Amber in rotation alongside it.
