About the flavor

There are really two flavor profiles to describe here.

Uncracked, the stick is gentle: a smooth, lightly sweet tobacco with citrus sitting in the aroma rather than the taste. Mild enough that some people forget there’s a capsule at all for the first few draws.

Cracked, the hierarchy flips completely. Tropical citrus takes the lead, bright and juicy rather than sharp, with menthol arriving just behind it to cool everything down. The tobacco retreats to a supporting role. The word most people reach for is sunny, and for once the marketing name is accurate.

The aroma follows the same split. Before the click it’s soft and barely noticeable; after it, the citrus becomes obvious to anyone nearby. If discretion matters in a particular moment, that’s worth timing around, and whether TEREA sticks smell covers the broader picture.

Across a session, the arc depends entirely on you. Crack it at the start and you get a consistent tropical-menthol stick for all 14 puffs. How to crack the capsule

Roll the filter between your thumb and forefinger until you feel and hear a soft click. It takes very little pressure. Two things to avoid: don’t squeeze hard enough to deform the filter, and don’t crack it while the stick is already inside the device, because handling the holder mid-session is awkward and you can dislodge the stick.

Most users crack before inserting or during a pause. Once cracked, it can’t be undone, so if you’re unsure, wait; you can always click later, but you can’t get the uncracked flavor back.

The Japanese version, this one, is the most refined of the three: cleaner citrus, better-balanced cooling, and the smoothest tobacco base, in line with how Japanese TEREA blends generally run less sweet than others. What’s in the box

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, with the carton cheaper per stick. Capsule sticks look identical to standard ones from the outside; the bead sits inside the filter and isn’t visible.

How to use

Insert printed-end up into any ILUMA holder without twisting. Current devices begin heating automatically, older ILUMA models need the button held until the first vibration, and the second vibration means you’re ready to draw. When should I crack the capsule?

Before the first puff for a consistent tropical-menthol session, or around the halfway mark to get both flavors from one stick. Most people settle on halfway after trying both.

What happens if I don’t crack it at all?

You get a mild, lightly sweet tobacco with citrus in the aroma. Perfectly usable, just not what you paid for.

Can I un-crack it?

No. Once the bead is broken the flavor is released for the rest of the stick, which is why it’s better to wait if you’re undecided.

Is the Japanese Sun Pearl different from the Kazakhstan one?

Same flavor concept, different tuning. The Japanese version is cleaner and better balanced; the Kazakhstan version is close behind at a noticeably lower price, and it’s the one most of our customers reorder.

Is this a good first capsule stick?
