Azure Blue is the best-selling ILUMA Standard finish, and it earns that position by being the easiest colour to live with. A cool, soft blue in matte, it has enough character to look like a choice rather than a default, without being the device everyone notices when you put it on a table.

What’s in the kit

ILUMA Standard is a two-piece system, so the box holds more than an all-in-one device would.

Inside: the ILUMA holder in Azure Blue, the matching pocket charger, a USB-C charging cable, a power adapter, and the documentation and warranty card.

TEREA sticks are sold separately, and the device does nothing without them, so most orders include a pack or two.

There’s no cleaning kit, which is deliberate rather than an oversight. ILUMA has no blade and never needs cleaning inside.

Why this one outsells the rest

Colour choice looks trivial until you’ve carried a device every day for a year, and Azure Blue occupies a useful middle ground.

It’s more distinctive than the neutrals. Pebble Grey and Pebble Beige are cool and warm stones respectively, and they’re designed to disappear. Moss Green has colour but stays quiet about it.

It’s also considerably calmer than the bold end. Sunset Red is the one people notice across a room, and the Neon Limited Edition is louder still, produced as a limited run rather than a permanent line.

One practical note on lighter finishes: fingerprints and small scuffs show more on pale colours than dark ones across a year of pocket use. Pebble Grey is the most forgiving of the six if that matters more to you than the look.

How the two parts work together

The holder runs each session and the pocket charger refills it in between, which is what gets this device through a full day without a wall socket.

Two sticks back to back from the holder, then a few minutes back in the charger, and it’s ready before you want a third. The charger itself carries around 20 sticks, a full pack, so one overnight charge covers a normal day.

Using it

Charge the pocket charger fully before the first session, about 135 minutes over USB-C. Hold the charger button for four seconds to switch the device on.

Take the holder out, insert a TEREA stick to the line on the filter, and wait for the vibration and pulsing lights. Heating starts on its own, with no button to hold. When the lights hold steady, draw normally for up to 14 puffs or roughly six minutes, with a vibration warning you at the last 30 seconds. Remove the used stick and slide the holder back into the charger.

Autostop ends a session if the stick is moved or pulled out part-way, so a distraction doesn’t cost you half of one. A short press on the charger button shows the battery level, and a yellow blink means it needs charging. Our first-time ILUMA setup guide covers the rest.

Nothing to clean

Older IQOS devices heated the stick with a ceramic blade that collected tobacco residue and needed cleaning as a routine chore.

ILUMA has no blade. Smartcore induction heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick through a magnetic field, so nothing inside the holder ever touches tobacco. Used sticks come out whole and no residue accumulates. How TEREA sticks work explains the system.

ILUMA One is the all-in-one entry model, lightest and cheapest, with no pocket charger and no auto-start. ILUMA Standard is the two-piece system in plastic. Sticks to order with it

We stock all 75 TEREA flavors across five editions. For a first device, Amber suits full-flavor cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers, and Turquoise suits menthol smokers.

Edition affects the price more than the taste. Most of our customers buy the Kazakhstan range, on cost and for its five Pearl capsule flavors. Armenia is cheaper with a shorter lineup, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. Care in the UAE

Heat shortens lithium battery life faster than use does, and a parked car through an Abu Dhabi summer is the worst place to leave either part of this device. Keep both out of direct sun.

Use the supplied cable and adapter, and avoid running the holder while the charger is plugged in. There’s nothing else to maintain.

Does Azure Blue perform differently from the other colours?

No. Every ILUMA Standard shares the same heating, battery, consecutive uses and charge capacity. The finish is the only difference.

Why is this the most popular colour?

It sits between the neutral finishes and the bold ones, so it looks like a deliberate choice without drawing attention. That middle ground suits most people, and it’s the safest pick if the device is a gift.

Are TEREA sticks included?

No. The kit contains the holder, pocket charger, cable, adapter and documentation. Sticks are ordered separately.

How many sticks can I use back to back?

Two from the holder, then a few minutes in the charger. The charger holds around 20 sticks in total.

Does it start heating automatically?

Yes. Insert a stick to the filter line and heating begins by itself. ILUMA One is the model that needs a button press.

Does it need cleaning?

No. There’s no blade, so nothing collects inside and there’s no cleaning routine at all.

Can it use HEETS?

No. HEETS contain no metal heating element, so induction has nothing to heat. TEREA sticks only.

Azure Blue or Pebble Grey?

Azure Blue if you want a device with some colour to it. Pebble Grey if you want a true neutral, and it’s the finish that shows marks least over time.
