Breeze Blue is the colour that sells best across the ILUMA i range, and it’s the easiest one to recommend if you’re buying your first device in this generation. A soft, cool blue in matte, it has enough character to look chosen rather than default, without being the device everyone glances at when you set it down.
Specifications are identical across all five ILUMA i One finishes, so what follows covers the box, the behaviour and where blue sits in the range.
Colour matters more than it seems when you’re holding something several times a day.
Breeze Blue occupies the middle. It’s more distinctive than Midnight Black, which is the neutral that goes with everything, and warmer in feel than Leaf Green, which stays muted. It’s also considerably calmer than Digital Violet, the one built to be noticed, and it reads cooler than Terracotta Brown, the earthy option.
That middle ground is why it’s the safest pick when you’re buying for someone else, and why it outsells the rest.
One practical note on lighter finishes: fingerprints and small scuffs show sooner on pale colours than dark ones over a year of pocket use, and Midnight Black is the most forgiving of the five. All of them sit together on the ILUMA i One collection page.
ILUMA i One is a single unit, so the box carries little.
Inside: the ILUMA i One device in Breeze Blue, a USB-C charging cable, a cleaning tool for the outer cap, and the documentation with warranty details.
There’s no power adapter, which catches a few people out. Any USB-C phone charger does the job.
TEREA sticks are separate, and the device is useless without them, so most orders include a pack or two.
| Colour | Breeze Blue, matte finish |
| Design | All-in-one, no separate holder or charger |
| Heating | Smartcore Induction System, bladeless |
| Battery | 2700 mAh |
| Uses per full charge | Up to 20 sticks |
| Charging | USB-C, roughly 90 minutes |
| Autostart / Autostop | Yes |
| FlexPuff | Yes, up to 4 extra puffs |
| Touch screen | No |
| Session | Up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, plus FlexPuff |
| Compatible sticks | TEREA only |
The feature worth understanding before you buy is FlexPuff, because it’s the main reason to choose this generation over the older one.
During the first three minutes or eight puffs of a session, the device reads how you’re drawing. If your pattern suggests a longer session suits you, it extends it by up to four extra puffs, taking a stick from 14 to as many as 18.
Two honest caveats. It activates based on individual usage patterns, so it won’t trigger for every user or every session. And it helps most if you take slower, shorter draws and often find a stick ending before you’re finished with it. Anyone who draws hard and fast will rarely see it.
Beyond FlexPuff, upgrading from the older all-in-one gets you autostart and a bigger battery.
Heating begins the moment a stick goes in to the filter line, where ILUMA One needs the button held. Autostop ends a session if the stick comes out part-way. The battery is 2700 mAh against 1728, though both deliver around 20 sticks per charge.
What this device doesn’t have, despite the name: no touch screen and no Pause Mode. Those are on the two-piece ILUMA i Standard and ILUMA i Prime, which also manage up to three consecutive uses because their pocket chargers refill the holder between sticks.
Our ILUMA vs ILUMA i comparison covers whether this generation earns its price, and Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA assesses the cheaper alternatives.
Charge it fully first, around 90 minutes over USB-C, and hold the button for four seconds to switch it on.
Slide the cap open, insert a TEREA stick to the filter line without twisting. Heating starts by itself, or press the button for a second. A second vibration means ready. Draw for up to 14 puffs or six minutes plus any FlexPuff extension, with the status light showing remaining time and a single vibration near the end. Slide the used stick out and close the cap.
Our first-time ILUMA setup guide covers everything else, and stick specs are in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.
Older IQOS devices used a ceramic blade that pushed into the stick, collected residue and needed regular cleaning.
There’s no blade in this generation. Smartcore induction heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick with a magnetic field, so nothing inside the device touches tobacco. Sticks come out whole and nothing builds up. Only the outer cap needs occasional attention, using the tool supplied. How TEREA sticks work explains it properly.
That’s also why it takes TEREA and nothing else. HEETS have no metal element for induction to heat, and TEREA won’t work in an IQOS 3 Duo. Both directions are in HEETS in ILUMA and TEREA in IQOS 3 Duo, with every model listed in the device compatibility guide.
We stock all 75 TEREA flavors across five editions. For a first device, Amber suits full-flavor cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers, Turquoise suits menthol smokers.
Edition changes the price more than the taste. Most customers buy the Kazakhstan range, on cost and for its five Pearl capsule flavors. Armenia is cheaper with a shorter lineup, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. The gap is explained in why imported TEREA costs less, and the whole catalogue is in the full TEREA sticks range.
Heat is what shortens a lithium battery, and a parked car in an Abu Dhabi summer is the worst place to leave one. Keep it out of direct sun.
Use the supplied USB-C cable, don’t use the device while it’s charging, and nothing else needs doing.
In stock in Abu Dhabi with delivery inside 1 hour across the city, covering Khalifa City, Al Reem Island, Yas Island, Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City. Same-day delivery reaches Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Cash on delivery available, free delivery above 200 AED.
It sits between the neutral finishes and the bold ones, so it looks deliberate without drawing attention. That suits most buyers, and it’s the safest choice if the device is a gift.
No. All five ILUMA i One finishes share the same battery, heating and features.
The device reads your puff pattern in the first three minutes or eight puffs and may add up to four extra puffs, taking a session from 14 to as many as 18. It depends on how you draw, so it doesn’t trigger for everyone.
No. Touch screen and Pause Mode are features of ILUMA i Standard and ILUMA i Prime. This model has autostart, autostop and FlexPuff.
Neither. The kit has the device, a USB-C cable, a cap cleaning tool and documentation.
Up to 20 from the 2700 mAh battery, with charging taking around 90 minutes.
No. HEETS have no metal heating element, so induction has nothing to heat. TEREA sticks only.
