Digital Violet is the bold finish in the ILUMA i One range. A saturated violet with a matte surface, it’s the only colour here that reads as a statement rather than a preference, and it’s the device people comment on.
Performance is identical across all five finishes, so this page covers what’s in the box, how the device behaves, and who tends to choose this one.
Two reasons come up, and neither is only about looks.
The first is identification. If other people around you use IQOS, the black and neutral finishes are hard to tell apart at arm’s length, and picking up someone else’s device by mistake is a common annoyance. A violet one ends that.
The second is simply that not everyone wants their device to disappear. Digital Violet looks like an object someone chose, which is the opposite of what Midnight Black is for.
If that isn’t you, the quieter finishes are Midnight Black as the neutral, Leaf Green for colour that stays understated, Terracotta Brown for warmth, and Breeze Blue as the middle ground and the range’s best seller.
The usual caveat about bright finishes applies: they show fingerprints and small scuffs sooner than dark ones over a year of pocket use, and Midnight Black is the most forgiving of the five. All of them sit together on the ILUMA i One collection page.
ILUMA i One is a single unit, so the box is short on parts.
Inside: the ILUMA i One device in Digital Violet, a USB-C charging cable, a cleaning tool for the outer cap, and the documentation with warranty details.
No power adapter is supplied. Any USB-C phone charger works.
TEREA sticks are sold separately, and the device does nothing without them.

The two features that define this generation, and one of them is genuinely new rather than a refinement.
Autostart begins heating the moment a stick goes in to the filter line, with no button to hold. The older ILUMA One requires a press and hold, so this is the change you notice every session. Autostop ends things if the stick is removed part-way.
FlexPuff is the interesting one. During the first three minutes or eight puffs the device reads how you’re drawing, and if your pattern suggests it, extends the session by up to four extra puffs. A stick that normally gives 14 can reach 18. It activates on individual usage patterns rather than for everyone, and it helps most if you take slower draws and often find a session ending before you’re done.
The battery is 2700 mAh against the older model’s 1728, with both giving around 20 sticks per charge.
Absent from this model despite the ILUMA i badge: touch screen and Pause Mode, both of which live on the two-piece ILUMA i Standard and ILUMA i Prime. Those models also manage up to three consecutive uses, since their pocket chargers refill the holder between sticks.
Our ILUMA vs ILUMA i comparison sets the generations side by side, and Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA covers the budget alternatives.
Charge it fully before the first session, roughly 90 minutes over USB-C, and hold the button for four seconds to turn the device on.
Slide the cap open, insert a TEREA stick to the filter line without twisting. Heating starts by itself, or press the button for a second. A second vibration means ready. Draw for up to 14 puffs or six minutes plus any FlexPuff extension, with the status light showing remaining time and one vibration near the end. Slide the used stick out and close the cap.
Our first-time ILUMA setup guide covers the rest, and stick specifications are in how many puffs are in a TEREA stick.
Older IQOS devices heated the stick with a ceramic blade, which collected tobacco residue and needed cleaning as a routine chore.
There’s no blade in this generation. Smartcore induction heats a metal element sealed inside each TEREA stick through a magnetic field, so nothing inside the device ever touches tobacco. Sticks come out whole and nothing builds up. Only the outer cap needs occasional attention, using the supplied tool. How TEREA sticks work explains the mechanism.
The same design means it takes TEREA and nothing else. HEETS have no metal element for the coil to heat, and TEREA won’t heat in an IQOS 3 Duo. Both are covered in HEETS in ILUMA and TEREA in IQOS 3 Duo, with every model listed in the device compatibility guide.
We stock all 75 TEREA flavors across five editions. For a first device, Amber suits full-flavor cigarette smokers, Yellow suits light smokers, and Turquoise suits menthol smokers.
Edition affects price more than taste. Most of our customers buy the Kazakhstan range, on cost and for its five Pearl capsule flavors. Armenia is cheaper with a shorter lineup, and the official UAE edition comes in Arabic and English packaging at RRP. The reason behind the gap is in why imported TEREA costs less, and everything we carry is in the full TEREA sticks range.
Heat shortens lithium battery life faster than use does, so keep the device out of parked cars and off dashboards through the summer.
Use the supplied USB-C cable, avoid using it while it’s charging, and there’s nothing else to maintain.

It’s a saturated violet rather than a pastel, with a matte finish that keeps it from looking glossy. It’s the most eye-catching colour in the range.
No. All five ILUMA i One colours share the same battery, heating and features.
Brighter and lighter finishes show fingerprints and scuffs sooner than dark ones over long-term pocket use. Midnight Black is the most forgiving of the five.
The device reads your puff pattern over the first three minutes or eight puffs and may add up to four extra puffs, taking a session from 14 to as many as 18. It depends on individual usage.
Neither. Both features belong to the two-piece ILUMA i Standard and ILUMA i Prime. This model has autostart, autostop and FlexPuff.
No. The kit contains the device, a USB-C cable, a cap cleaning tool and documentation.
Up to 20 from a 2700 mAh battery, charging in around 90 minutes.
No. HEETS contain no metal heating element, so induction has nothing to heat. TEREA sticks only.
