Purple is the berry menthol of the TEREA range and the most fruit-forward stick in the Kazakhstan lineup. Dark forest fruit over a mild toasted tobacco base, finished with a clean menthol cooling that keeps the sweetness in check. It’s fruity without being syrupy, which is the line most flavored sticks fail to walk.

The Kazakhstan release is the balanced one of the family. Reviewers who compare origins describe it as rich with a smooth finish and the most reliable all-day option among the Purples, where other markets push either the cold or the tobacco harder.

Purple, Purple Wave, Purple Menthol: one stick, several names

This causes more confusion than any other flavor in the range, so it’s worth clearing up before anything else.

TEREA Purple, TEREA Purple Wave and TEREA Purple Menthol are the same berry-menthol concept sold under different names in different markets. The Kazakhstan pack you’re looking at is often listed as Purple Wave by other UAE stores, and searching either name will bring you to the same product.

What is genuinely different is Black Purple. The Black prefix marks an intensified version everywhere in the TEREA world, so Black Purple Indonesia and Black Purple Menthol Japan are deeper in berry and considerably colder than this one. If you’ve tried a Purple somewhere and found it too mild, those are the upgrades rather than a different flavor family.

About the flavor

The hierarchy places berry and menthol together at the front, with the tobacco deliberately kept back. The fruit reads as dark forest berries: blueberry most clearly, with blackberry and a touch of raspberry behind it. The tobacco base is mild and toasted, there to give the stick body rather than to compete.

The aroma is fruity and fresh, closer to berries than to mint, and it’s noticeable without being heavy. This is a sociable flavor in the literal sense, which is why it shows up so often at gatherings and outdoor evenings across the UAE.

The session moves in a clear direction. Early draws lead with the cooling and the berry arrives just behind it, sweet and bright. Through the middle the two settle into balance, and this is where the Kazakhstan version earns its reputation: the fruit stays defined rather than blurring into the menthol. In the final third the cooling softens and the toasted tobacco base becomes more noticeable, which stops the stick from finishing thin. It ends clean and palate-clearing rather than sugary. Fourteen puffs at medium intensity, roughly 3 out of 5.

Where Kazakhstan’s Purple sits among the origins

The same flavor tastes different depending on which market made it, and the differences are consistent enough that regular buyers have preferences.

Kazakhstan is the balanced one: rich, smooth-finishing, and the version people settle on for daily use. The Indonesian version runs lighter with more aroma than body. The Japanese range takes the idea colder and darker with Purple Menthol and its intensified sibling. And Purple Wave in the UAE edition is the official local release at RRP pricing.

Every Purple we carry is gathered on the Purple flavor page, and the TEREA edition comparison explains how the five ranges differ more broadly.

If you want it colder, sweeter, or sharper

Purple sits in the middle of Kazakhstan’s fruit-menthol group, which makes it a good place to navigate from.

Colder with no fruit at all: Turquoise, the reference menthol of the whole range. Red fruit instead of dark: Ruby Fuse, berry with a cooling finish. Lighter and tropical: Summer Wave, the easiest of the fruit menthols. Sharper and more citrus-led: Green Zing, which turns the sweetness down and the zest up.

And if you want the berry idea with a capsule you can click mid-session, Twilight Pearl is the Pearl version of this direction. All sixteen flavors are laid out on our TEREA Kazakhstan flavors page.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, with cartons priced lower per stick. Kazakhstan stock arrives factory-sealed in the white and purple packaging, printed in Kazakh and Russian with Kazakhstan health warnings and the flavor name in Latin script. Imported packaging in an unfamiliar language is normal; a broken seal or a misspelt flavor name is not, and our guide to spotting fake TEREA covers the rest of the checks.

Using it

Insert the stick printed-end up into the holder without twisting. Current ILUMA models begin heating automatically, older ones need the button held until the first vibration, and a second vibration means ready. Up to 14 puffs across about 6 minutes at 0.5mg of nicotine, and the used stick comes out whole for general waste. Nothing burns, which is explained in how TEREA sticks work.

One practical note for fruit menthols: berry aromas linger in a holder more than plain tobacco does. If you’re rotating between Purple and something subtle like Amber or Silver, run the Purple last or give the device a few minutes in between.

Devices

Heats in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the full ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. No blade device, the IQOS 3 Duo included, can heat TEREA at all; every model is listed in our device compatibility guide. Kazakhstan editions carry no regional restriction and cost less than UAE stock for the reasons set out in why imported TEREA costs less.

Delivery

In stock in Abu Dhabi with delivery inside 1 hour across the city, and same-day service to Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Cash on delivery available, free delivery on orders above 200 AED.

Frequently asked questions

Is TEREA Purple the same as Purple Wave?

Yes. Purple, Purple Wave and Purple Menthol are market names for the same berry-menthol blend. Black Purple is the genuinely different one: same idea, stronger berry and much colder.

How sweet is it?

Fruity rather than sugary. The menthol clears the palate on each exhale, so the sweetness never builds up the way it does with heavily flavored products.

Which berries are in it?

The profile reads as dark forest fruit: blueberry leads, with blackberry and a hint of raspberry behind it.

Is the Kazakhstan version better than the others?

It’s the balanced one, which is why it’s the most popular for daily use. The Indonesian is lighter, the Japanese colder. Better depends on what you want, but Kazakhstan is the safest first choice.

Will it work in a device I bought in the UAE?

Yes. TEREA has no regional lock, so any ILUMA, ILUMA i or Lambda i-series device heats any edition.
