Blue is the peppermint stick of the Indonesian range. Philip Morris describes it as real tobacco with a cool menthol sensation, enriched with peppermint and a creamy aroma, and those two words, peppermint and creamy, are what set it apart from every other cooling flavor in the lineup. The cold is clean and direct, and underneath it there’s a softness most menthol sticks don’t have.

It’s one of the most commonly chosen flavors in the Indonesian edition, and it’s also one of the most commonly misdescribed.

Blue is not blueberry

A lot of UAE listings will tell you TEREA Blue has “a hint of blueberry.” It doesn’t. The official Philip Morris description for this flavor names peppermint and a creamy aroma, with no fruit at all.

The confusion comes from the name. TEREA uses colour names as a coding system across its menthol family: Blue, Silver, Green, Turquoise, Purple. The colour indicates where a stick sits in the cooling range, not what fruit is in it. Purple genuinely is berry, which is probably where the assumption started, but Blue is the mint-and-cream one.

Worth knowing before you buy, because if you’re shopping for a fruity menthol, this isn’t it, and if you’re shopping for a clean peppermint with a soft finish, this is exactly it.

About the flavor

The hierarchy is peppermint and cooling first, a creamy softness second, and a mellow tobacco base third. There’s a light sweetness, but it comes from the cream note rather than from any fruit.

The aroma is fresh and clean, closer to peppermint than to the sharper medicinal menthol some sticks give off, and it sits in the middle of the range for how much it carries into a room. If aroma is a consideration for where you use TEREA, our guide to whether TEREA sticks smell breaks the families down.

The session is one of the steadiest in the Indonesian range, which is a large part of the appeal. The opening draws are the coldest and cleanest, with the peppermint most obvious. Through the middle the creamy note comes forward and rounds the cold off, and this is where Blue stops tasting like a straightforward menthol. The final third holds its cooling without turning bitter or thin, finishing smooth and mildly sweet rather than icy. Fourteen puffs, consistent from first to last, and no sharp edges anywhere in it.

Where Blue sits in the Indonesian cooling range

Indonesia carries a full cooling ladder, and Blue occupies the balanced middle.

Green is the stronger cousin, built on a strong cool menthol with green fruit rather than cream. Black Green intensifies that further, following the Black rule that runs across the whole TEREA range. Bright Wave takes the menthol in a fresh green-fruit direction, and Black Purple is the dark forest fruit option at high intensity.

Choose Blue over any of those if you want cooling without fruit, and softness rather than a hit. The complete Indonesian lineup, all 21 flavors grouped by family, is on our TEREA Indonesia flavors page.

Blue across the editions

Blue is one of the flavors that exists in more than one market, and the price differs between them.

The UAE edition carries Blue at official RRP with Arabic and English packaging. The Kazakhstan edition carries it in the budget tier alongside the widest Pearl capsule range we stock. This Indonesian version sits in the same budget bracket as Kazakhstan.

The blend concept is the same in all three, with small differences in batch tuning that regular users sometimes notice and new users generally don’t. What changes materially is the price, and the reason is tobacco tax in each source market rather than anything inside the stick, as we’ve set out in why imported TEREA costs less. If you want the full five-market picture before choosing, the TEREA edition comparison covers it, and every menthol flavor we stock is collected on the menthol flavors page.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, with cartons cheaper per stick. Original Indonesian-market stock, factory-sealed, printed in Indonesian with Indonesian health warnings and the flavor name in Latin script.

Using it

Insert the stick printed-end up into the holder without twisting. Current ILUMA devices begin heating on their own; older models need the button held until the first vibration, then a second vibration signals ready. Up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes at 0.5mg nicotine, and the spent stick goes out whole into general waste. What’s happening inside is covered in how TEREA sticks work.

One note for this flavor in particular: the creamy note is the first thing lost when a device is running low on charge, and a half-charged session tends to taste like plain menthol. If Blue ever tastes flat to you, check the battery before you blame the pack.

Devices

Heats in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the whole ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. Blade devices, the IQOS 3 Duo included, cannot heat TEREA at all. Every compatible and incompatible model is listed in the device compatibility guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does TEREA Blue taste of blueberry?

No. The official flavor description is peppermint with a creamy aroma over a tobacco base. Listings that mention blueberry are guessing from the name. If you want berry with menthol, Black Purple or Purple Wave are the Indonesian options.

Is Blue stronger or weaker than Green?

Weaker on cooling. Green is built on a strong cool menthol with green fruit; Blue is the balanced, creamier option. Black Green is stronger than both.

Is this the same Blue sold in the UAE edition?

Same blend concept, different market batch and a different price. The Indonesian version sits in the budget tier while UAE stock follows official RRP.

Is it good for someone new to menthol sticks?

Yes, it’s one of the better starting points. The cooling is clear without being aggressive and the creamy finish keeps it from feeling harsh.

Why does mine taste weaker than usual?

Most often a low device battery, since the softer notes fade first. Storage matters too: leaving packs in a hot car in Abu Dhabi summer will flatten the peppermint over time.
