Yugen is the floral half of the Dimensions series, and the most unusual stick in the Indonesian range. Underneath sits Indonesian tobacco; above it, pear sweetness, lavender and jasmine tea. It’s the only TEREA flavor built around a tea note, and the only one most people describe as elegant rather than strong or refreshing.

The Dimensions line is Philip Morris’s premium tier, and Yugen is the one made for people who want their session to be interesting rather than familiar.

The name is a clue to the flavor

Yūgen is a Japanese aesthetic concept, one of the classical ideals in Japanese art and poetry. It describes a beauty that’s suggested rather than displayed: subtle, profound, felt more than seen. Naming an Indonesian-made stick after a Japanese idea sounds like marketing, but in this case the name is an accurate instruction for how to approach it.

Yugen doesn’t hit you. It unfolds. If you draw hard and fast expecting an immediate flavor hit, you’ll get a pleasant tobacco stick and miss most of what you paid for. Taken slowly, the layers separate and the pear, lavender and jasmine each get their moment. That’s the whole design.

About the flavor

Three things are happening at once, and they arrive in sequence rather than together. The Indonesian tobacco base is smooth and balanced, giving the stick body without asserting itself. Pear sits on top as a light, juicy sweetness, never syrupy. And the floral layer of lavender and jasmine tea is what makes it memorable, closer to a cup of jasmine tea in a quiet room than to anything perfumed.

The aroma is delicate for a flavored stick. Where the clove Editions fill a space and citrus menthols carry across a room, Yugen stays close, floral and soft. The session genuinely evolves, which is rare. The opening draws are tobacco-forward with the pear arriving as a suggestion. Through the middle the floral notes take over and the jasmine tea note becomes distinct enough to name. The final third pulls back toward the tobacco base with the lavender lingering behind it, and the finish is clean and dry with a faint sweetness rather than a lasting perfume. Fourteen puffs, and the stick you finish is not the one you started.

There’s no menthol here, though several reviewers describe Yugen as feeling fresher than its sibling. That’s the floral character doing the work, not cooling.

Yugen or Apricity?

The two Dimensions sticks in the Indonesian range are opposites by design.

Apricity is the warm one: apricot, vanilla and a creamy finish, sweet and comforting, the closest thing TEREA makes to a dessert flavor. Yugen is the aromatic one: floral, layered, drier and more complex.

Choose Apricity for evenings and comfort. Choose Yugen for daytime and interest. Most people who buy both end up keeping one of each rather than picking a winner, because they don’t compete for the same mood.

The same stick exists in two editions

Yugen is produced for both the Indonesian and UAE markets, and we stock both. The blend concept is the same, but the price is not: Indonesian stock sits in our budget tier while the UAE edition follows official local pricing. Practical differences: this Indonesian version arrives with Indonesian packaging and health warnings, while the UAE version carries Arabic and English. The Indonesian lineup is the biggest we carry at 21 flavors, and Yugen belongs to none of its main families. In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton across 10 packs, with cartons cheaper per stick. Yugen ships in the Dimensions series packaging, black with purple and pink, which is a noticeable step up from standard TEREA packs. Stock is original Indonesian-market product, factory-sealed, printed in Indonesian with local health warnings and the name in Latin script.

Drawing it properly

Insert the stick printed-end up without twisting. Current ILUMA models start heating on their own; older ones need the button held until the first vibration, with a second vibration to signal ready. For this flavor specifically, slow and steady draws matter more than with any other stick we sell. Yugen’s floral and tea notes are the first casualties of a hard pull, and rushing it flattens a layered flavor into a plain one. Give it a clean palate too: after a clove Edition or a strong menthol, the jasmine simply won’t register.

Does Yugen contain menthol?

No. Some reviewers call it fresh or crisp, but that impression comes from the floral and pear notes rather than any cooling agent. There’s no menthol in it.

What does jasmine tea taste like in a tobacco stick?

Light and aromatic rather than sweet, closest to the smell of jasmine tea steeping. It’s the note that separates Yugen from every other TEREA flavor, and it’s most obvious in the middle third of the stick.

Is the Indonesian Yugen the same as the UAE one?
