Mulint is the most popular of the Indonesian clove sticks, and the reason is straightforward: it’s the easiest one to like on the first try. Philip Morris blends fine tobacco with Indonesian cloves and cooling menthol, then enriches it with berry aroma, which gives you a familiar sweet-and-cold framework carrying an unfamiliar spice. If clove sounds interesting but you’re not sure you want to commit to it, Mulint is the softest landing in the cool group.

The berry does the introducing

Clove is a strong first impression. Most people meeting it for the first time notice the spice and the numbing sensation before they notice anything else, and that’s why some of the seven Editions take a few sticks to appreciate.

Mulint sidesteps that. The berry sweetness and the menthol are both flavors UAE smokers already know from sticks like Purple or Purple Wave, so the stick opens on familiar ground and lets the clove arrive gradually rather than all at once. You end up tasting the spice properly by the middle of the session, by which point you’ve already settled in.

That’s also the reason Mulint sells more than Berrine and Minago despite all three sharing the same clove-and-menthol base. It asks the least of a new user.

About the flavor

The hierarchy runs berry and menthol at the front, clove second, tobacco last. That order matters: in Auburn and the warm Editions the clove leads, while here it sits one step back, which is exactly what makes Mulint approachable.

The aroma is sweet and cool with the clove warmth underneath, less complex than Berrine’s floral profile but more immediately pleasant. Clove sticks are the most noticeable-smelling family in the TEREA range and Mulint is no exception, though the berry softens it into something closer to a fruit note than a spice rack. Our guide to whether TEREA sticks smell sets out how the flavor families compare.

The session moves in a clear direction. Opening draws are berry-led and cold, almost like a straightforward fruit menthol. Through the middle the clove pushes forward and the eugenol tingling begins on the lips and tongue, which is the point where the stick stops resembling anything from the other editions. The final third is the spiciest and warmest, with the berry reduced to background sweetness and the menthol settling into a cooling finish. It ends warm and sweet-spiced rather than icy, and the aftertaste holds longer than a standard menthol would. Fourteen puffs, and the flavor genuinely travels across them.

Where it sits in the Indonesian range

The seven clove Editions split into warm and cool. Mulint belongs to the cool group with Berrine, the floral and most aromatic of the three, and Minago, the coldest, built on green fruit and mint. Among these, Mulint is the sweetest and the most direct.

The warm group runs without menthol: Golden with fermented plum, Auburn with apricot and vanilla, Emerald with fermented green fruit, and Scarlet with red fruit and cinnamon at the spicy end. If you take to Mulint and want to explore the spice without cooling, Auburn is the natural next pack.

All twenty-one Indonesian flavors, clove and otherwise, are laid out on our TEREA Indonesia flavors page, and the wider store carries five editions in total across the full TEREA sticks range. Berry-and-menthol without any clove exists in several of them: Purple runs through the Kazakhstan range, and Purple Wave appears in both the UAE and Armenia editions. Comparing those against Mulint is the clearest way to taste what clove actually adds.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack, 200 per carton in 10 packs, with the carton cheaper per stick than singles. Mulint arrives as original Indonesian-market stock, factory-sealed, printed in Indonesian with local health warnings and the Edition name in Latin script on the front.

Indonesian editions sit in the lower price tier of our five ranges, which comes down to tobacco taxation at source rather than anything about the product; the detail is in why imported TEREA costs less.

Getting a good session

Insert the stick printed-end up without twisting. Current ILUMA models begin heating automatically, older ones need the button held until the first vibration, and a second vibration means you’re ready to draw. A stick gives up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes at 0.5mg nicotine, and comes out whole afterwards because nothing burns, which how TEREA sticks work explains in full.

Two habits worth adopting with this one. Don’t rush the first half, because the berry-forward opening is the most pleasant part and it disappears if you draw hard through it. And remember that clove leaves more aroma in a holder than any other TEREA family, so give the device a few minutes before switching to a light tobacco or a mint.

Devices

Heats in any induction device: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the entire ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. Blade devices cannot heat TEREA at all, the IQOS 3 Duo included, and every compatible and incompatible model is listed in our device compatibility guide. If you’re still on a blade device, the IQOS Originals range covers HEETS users.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mulint a good first clove stick?

It’s the easiest of the seven to start with if you like sweet and cold flavors, because the berry and menthol carry the spice. If you’d rather meet clove without menthol in the way, Auburn is the alternative starting point.

How sweet is it?

Sweet enough to notice, not sweet enough to cloy. The clove spice and the menthol both cut against the berry, so it stays balanced rather than turning into a dessert flavor.

Why does it make my lips tingle?

Cloves contain eugenol, which causes a mild numbing on the lips and tongue. It’s normal, it peaks in the second half of the stick, and it fades within minutes of finishing.

Mulint or Purple Wave?

Purple Wave is berry and menthol with no clove, available in the UAE and Armenia editions. Mulint is the same idea with Indonesian clove blended in. If you already enjoy Purple Wave and want to know what clove tastes like, Mulint is the direct comparison.

Is Mulint sold in any other edition?

No. All seven clove Editions are exclusive to the Indonesian range, and no other TEREA market produces a clove line at all.
