Minago is the coldest of the seven Indonesian clove Editions. Philip Morris describes it as a blend of Indonesian cloves and fresh cold menthol enriched with green and mint aromas, and the word “cold” in that description is doing real work. In the other six clove sticks the spice leads and any menthol supports it. Here the order reverses.

That makes it the clove stick for people who arrived from menthol rather than from tobacco, and the one to reach for in Abu Dhabi summer when a warm spiced stick is the last thing you want.

The coldest clove stick TEREA makes

Rank the seven Editions by temperature and Minago sits alone at the top. Golden, Auburn, Emerald and Scarlet carry no menthol at all. Berrine adds cooling behind floral notes and Mulint adds it behind berry, but in both the clove still runs the show. Minago is the only one where the cold arrives first and stays in front.

It still isn’t a menthol stick. Compared to a dedicated cooling flavor like Black Menthol in the Japan range or Turquoise from the UAE, Kazakhstan and Armenia editions, Minago is warmer, spicier and considerably busier. What it offers is the coldest possible version of a clove experience, not a menthol with spice sprinkled on top.

About the flavor

The hierarchy runs menthol first, clove second, green fruit and mint third, with tobacco underneath holding it together. Sweetness is low. Where Mulint gives you berry and Berrine gives you flowers, Minago gives you something green and herbal, closer to fresh leaves than to fruit.

The aroma is the sharpest of the clove family. Clove sticks are all noticeable in a room, but Minago’s scent is bright and cool rather than warm and heavy, which makes it the least “dessert-like” of the seven. Whether that reads as cleaner or as less inviting depends entirely on your taste, and our guide to whether TEREA sticks smell covers how the families compare across the range.

The session opens hard and cold, mint and menthol together, with the clove barely showing for the first few draws. Through the middle the spice pushes forward and the green note settles between the cold and the warmth, and this is the stretch where Minago tastes most like what it is. In the final third the eugenol numbing peaks and the cooling flattens into a steady coolness rather than a burst, finishing clean, dry and lightly spiced. Fourteen puffs, and the balance travels a long way from where it started.

Green and mint, not berry

The distinction matters because the three cool clove Editions get sold as if they were the same product in different colours.

Mulint is the sweet one, built on berry, and the easiest of the three to like on the first stick. Berrine is the aromatic one, floral and layered, and the most complex. Minago is the fresh one, green and minty, with the least sweetness and the most cooling. If you’ve tried one and found it too sweet, Minago is the correction. If you’ve tried Minago and want more warmth, Mulint or Berrine will give it to you, and the four warm Editions will give you more still.

All seven sit together on our TEREA Indonesia flavors page, and the wider picture of how Indonesia compares with the other four editions is on the TEREA sticks page. Clove exists only in the Indonesian range, so nothing in the UAE, Kazakhstan, Japan or Armenia ranges will substitute for it.

Coming from a menthol flavor

This is the clove Edition most menthol users start with, and it’s a sensible entry point, but two things will surprise you.

The numbness is new. Cloves contain eugenol, which produces a light tingling on the lips and tongue that no menthol stick produces. It builds through the stick, peaks near the end, and passes within a few minutes of finishing. It’s normal, and it’s the sensation clove smokers actually come for.

The cold behaves differently. Menthol in a pure cooling stick is a single clean note. Menthol running alongside clove is cut with warmth, so it registers as less icy than the same strength would in a menthol-only stick. If you measure Minago against Black Menthol you’ll find it milder; measure it against the other six clove Editions and it’s the coldest by a distance.

In the pack

20 sticks per pack and 200 per carton across 10 packs, with the carton cheaper per stick. Minago comes as original Indonesian-market stock, factory-sealed, printed in Indonesian with Indonesian health warnings and the Edition name in Latin script on the front. Indonesian editions sit in the lower price bracket of our range for the tax reasons explained in why imported TEREA costs less.

Getting a clean session

Slide the stick printed-end up into the holder without twisting. Current ILUMA models start heating by themselves; older ones need the button held until the first vibration, and a second vibration means ready. Up to 14 puffs across roughly 6 minutes at 0.5mg nicotine, and the finished stick comes out whole for general waste because nothing has burned. How TEREA sticks work explains the Smartcore system behind that.

Minago rewards a cold start. The opening draws carry the most menthol, so let the device finish preheating fully rather than pulling early, and you’ll get the clean front end this flavor is bought for. And as with every clove stick, the holder holds more aroma afterwards than tobacco or menthol flavors leave, so give it a short break before switching to something light.

Devices

Any induction device heats it: IQOS ILUMA One, Standard and Prime, the whole ILUMA i series, and Lambda i8, i9 and i10. Blade devices cannot heat TEREA at all, which includes everything in the IQOS Originals range and the Lambda T3 and CC. The complete model list is in our device compatibility guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is Minago the coldest TEREA flavor?

It’s the coldest of the clove Editions. Dedicated menthol sticks such as Black Menthol are colder still, because their cooling isn’t sharing the stick with spice.

Is it sweet?

Barely. It’s the driest of the three cool clove Editions, built on green and mint notes rather than berry or fruit sweetness.

I’m new to clove. Should I start here or with Auburn?

If you normally smoke menthol, start here. If you normally smoke tobacco, start with Auburn, which introduces the spice gently with apricot and vanilla instead of cold.

Why does it tingle?

Eugenol, the compound that gives cloves their character, has a mild numbing effect on the lips and tongue. It’s expected with any clove stick and fades shortly after the session.

Can I get Minago in the UAE or Kazakhstan edition?

No. Every clove Edition is exclusive to the Indonesian range, and no other TEREA market produces them.
